What points of application can be made using the “Four Questions for Application?” State and explain 1 point of application for each of these four questions. Your explanation for each of these points should be 1 paragraph (150-300 words) in length. 1.
The question of duty
In Acts 9: 36-43, Tabitha showcases her duty as a follower of God. She was a loyal and great believer in doing the works of God. She took care of the poor and showed them both kindness and compassion. Tabitha was given the gift to care for people which she did for those in Joppa. In doing all these good deeds, she did not expect anything in return. Everything that Tabitha had done was out of love and her continuous faith that she
had put into God. And in doing so, she had been brought back to life. In the passage we also learn about Peter who had been in Lydda. He also was performing his duties as a follower of God to encourage people to continue and bring them closer to God. In doing all this, Peter had also been given the power to bring Tabitha back to life. As Christians, we are called to love other people apart from just our family, and help those people who need our assistance. I believe, the reason that God gave Peter the power to revie her and Tabitha the gift to care for people was because they had put their trust in God and continued to do their duties as followers of God. 2.
The question of character
In the story we learn that Tabitha had been a woman who was hardworking, lived a life of
service and cared for many. In the passage, we see how she had done good deeds for the people in Joppa by making them clothing and helping them with what they needed. She was seen to be a woman who did many good works and did not except anything in return.
God works within his people through the Holy Spirit which allows them to continue to do
good deeds. In our lives it is what we do that will determine how things will turn out. Therefore, it is our character and how we choose to look at situations that will show the type of people we are. As Christians, the most important aspect is character and the understanding of putting our trust in God. As a result, by trusting God and allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, we will be able to teach and show the greatness of our character by our deed. 3.
The question of goals
Through God, people are filled with the Holy Spirit that allows them to do his work and bring people closer to him. In the story we learn that Tabitha had been a loyal follower that had died, and was brought back from the dead. And as for Peter, he had been in Lydda to encourage people to continue to trust in God and bring more people closer to

him. Peter and Tabitha had been doing their duties as followers of God. From both these characters in the bible, they had both achieved the goal to bring people closer to God. This goal had been achieved by Peter having the power that God had given him to restore
Tabitha back to life. When Peter had presented Tabitha alive, many became to believe in God and grow closer to him. As Christians, we are taught to believe and continue to trust in God and from that we will achieve goals that we have for ourself and also the goals that God has for his people. 4.
The question of discernment
In Acts 9: 36-43, discernment had been portrayed in the story when Peter had been brought from Lydda to assist in Tabitha’s death. When we are in trouble, people tend to dwell and panic about the situation. This is seen in the story as the people of Joppa did not know what to do, therefore they had sent two men to get Peter. Upon Peter’s arrival he had seen the grief of the widows and those present in the upper room. Hence, Peter had showed discernment when he told the people to leave the room, and he knelt down and prayed to God to show him what he must do. In conclusion, we must turn to God in times of need when decisions are difficult to make. God knows what’s best for us and he will show us the direction we must take. Many do not see the power of prayer and go about doing things without a sense of direction, however, when one prays to God for help, help they shall receive. From Peter’s prayer he was given the power from God to restore Tabitha back to life.
