A. I have read Acts 19:11-22 in both a formal translation ESV and a functional translation NLT.

Having read the passage in both formal and functional translation, list at least 2 similarities and 3 differences between the way both translations cover this story. 1.
Similarity – Verse 12 in both translations use the same words: handkerchiefs or aprons, touched his skins, sick, their diseases, and evil spirits.

Similarity – Verse 15 in both translations use the same words: But, evil spirits, Jesus I know, and Paul, but who are you?,

Difference – In the ESV translation Verse 11, God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul. In the NLT translation verse 11, God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles.

Difference – In the ESV translation Verse 18, those who were now believers came confessing and divulging their practice. In the NLT translation verse 18, many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. 5.
Difference - In the ESV translation verse 19, the value of the books burned came to
50 thousand pieces of silver. In the NLT translation verse 19, the value of the books
burned was several million dollars.

1. Main characters: (List them)
The main characters of Acts 19 11-22 are God, Paul, Evil Spirits, Jews, Greeks, Seven Sons of Sceva, Timothy and Erastus.
2. Plot: (50-100 words)
Through God’s permission, Paul was allowed to performed extraordinary miracles to heal the sick and cast out demons. Those who attempted to cast out demons using the name of Lord Jesus
in vain were attacked and beaten by the persons possessed. After the Seven Sons of Sceva were beaten by the possessed, many people of Ephesus became believers of the name Lord Jesus Christ.

Introduction:
God gave Paul the power to perform extraordinary miracles.
Rising Action
: Greeks and Jews were claiming to cast out evil spirits using the name Lord Jesus.
Climax:
The Seven Sons of Sceva were beaten and wounded by a man possessed by demon they
were trying to cast away.
Falling Action:
Many residents of Ephesus became believers and honored the name Lord Jesus.
Resolution:
Many of the new believers confessed their sinful ways and burned their sorcery books.
