God’s Hand at Work Life is unquestionably the greatest gift our God has given to us. Throughout our lives, we may face many adversaries and yet we still relish in the glorious light that our God shines down upon us. I have persevered through many obstacles during the course of my short life however, I am a firm believer that the struggles presented to me serve a higher purpose. Specifically, there was one very impassioned experience in my life where I had the greatest opportunity to witness God’s magnificent hand at work. I have always seen God in everything I do. It is with his word and hand that shapes the very fabric of who I am and who I will become. This was embedded into my heart and soul the day I almost lost someone very important in my life. My friend and I were inseparable to say the least. We had spent almost every second together while we were in Afghanistan. It was during the hot summer of 2015 when an IED (Improved Explosive Device) was detonated right from underneath him. Words were inexistent when I heard the news. When he arrived back to base, I was there with him at the clinic and I knew, in my heart, that God was calling him back home. As I stood there with his hand in mine, I prayed to God to give him another chance, a chance to serve a higher purpose here on this Earth in hopes that he would help spread the word of God as he had already gotten so close to him. It was five minutes later that God had answered that prayer. The medics were able to stabilize him and had announced that he would persevere through his injuries. God tells us in James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”

(NIV 50 th Anniversary, 2014). This verse has carried me throughout the hardest times of my life because it is nothing short of the truth. God is undoubtedly in everything we do, and his hand works for us in ways that we will never truly understand. Let us not question his actions nor his decisions, but rather let his hands be the instrument to our heart and souls. References: NIV 50th Anniversary . (2014).
