L EADERSHIP AND S CRIPTURE A SSESSMENT A SSIGNMENT EDUC 871 Leadership and Scripture Assessment The vision is the focal point of any leader's goal; it is a mindset of what something is supposed to look like. The direction in which any leader wants to guide their staff members and work unified in accomplishing the goal. The organization's vision must be put into place from the beginning and get the buy-in from all stakeholders. The organization (leader) must involve stakeholders in developing, changing, and adopting a vision. This ensures that stakeholders have input and feel their opinions are considered. A vision is a concept that unifies an organization, a team, and groups to work together. “Where there is no prophetic vision, the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law (King James Bible, 2017)”. This bible verse stresses the importance of having a vision and a unified group toward a common goal, referred to as know your purpose in our text. A vision is an organizational goal set to be accomplished with different landmarks. The organization must first identify the plan and how it will be executed. Then, it will be presented to staff or groups working towards the vision and share the goal with them. Allow them time to debrief, ask questions, and validate their inputs to create buy-in. A unified staff (group) will work to ensure the goal is complete; there must also be alignment in the organization. The plan developed for the vision must be observable and measurable. Our text defines this area as “knowing what you want to accomplish.” Jesus had many things he wanted to accomplish; the main one was saving everyone. “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (King James Bible, 2017)”.
