Explanation of Key Events and Scriptures Demonstrate your comprehension of fundamental truths of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and your ability to use the scriptures to teach them. Be sure to include specific scripture references from the assigned readings Scenario: Imagine you have been asked by a family member or friend to share what you believe about the truths and events you studied this week. Share in your own words several insights as though you are really trying to teach someone. Include at least three scripture references to support the truths you teach (you may reference them, but there is no need to quote them). Share your testimony as you would when teaching someone. Your response will be evaluated by the following criteria: 1. 200–300 words in length (please include your word count at the botom of the section). 2. Include at least 3 scripture references . Response: Moroni 7:3, I love this verse because of the gifts god face us as followers of Christ that we can see right off the bat. The gift of being peaceable and having sufficient hope. In my patriarchal blessing it says that I am a peacemaker, and

whenever I see the gift of peace being spoken of in the scriptures, it just hits extra hard for me and reaffirms that being a peacemaker is indeed a gift from God. Moroni 10:8, this scripture speaks true to the face that God gives many gifts, there are different ways that they are administered, but God works through all of them and the manifestations of the Holy Spirit profit those who do not deny the gifts that God has given them. It reminds me of the parable of the talents, how some buried them and did not multiply them or nurture them, and that there were those who did and were blessed for it. We have gifts and talents for a reason, and God wants us to use them to bless others and to keep the Spirit of God with us. Doctrine and Covenants 46:7-12 connect well with Moroni 10:8 by speaking of why we have gifts and why it is important to remember and find out what gifts we have to help others and ourselves. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again. Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem.
