Worldview Research Paper Assignment
Andrea Gibson
Liberty University RLGN104: Christian Life and Biblical Worldview
Professor Alyssa Edwards
September 9, 2022
“Worldview was first coined by the Prussian philosopher, Immanuel Kant in his Critique of Judgment, published in 1790” (Weider & Gutierrez, 2013). “A worldview is the guide that each of us uses to categorize thoughts and knowledge in order for them to make sense” (Faith Christian 2021, September 25). Our life dramatically influences how we sculpt our worldview, “Just like the architectural drawings for a building guide the craftsmen where to put each block, fixture, and piece of wood, our worldview gives specifications and boundaries for how we handle thoughts that we encounter day in and day out” (Faith Christian 2021, September 25).

When it comes to the question of origin, I think about the Bible, God has shown me that He has always wanted a relationship with me and always has had a plan. I believe our origin came from God. We were made in the image of Himself (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Genesis 1:27). The first part of the Bible tells us, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Genesis 1:1). I believe we all were created by the one and only loving God.
When it comes to the question of identity, I know we all are a child of God. We all have a purpose and God will help and lead us in the right direction. The Lord never changes (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Malachi 3:6). His love is the foundation of my identity. I know we
were fearfully and wonderfully made (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Psalm 139:14). Being human is a gift from God. We all have emotions, souls, minds, and a capacity to be creative that are truly unique. I believe all living things including humans should be created equal. God spoke everything into existence (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Genesis 1:19).
When it comes to the question of purpose, I think my purpose is to live out Gods plan. I believe God has a purpose for everyone (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Psalm 138:8). Our humanity’s purpose is to glorify God (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Isaiah 43:7). In
my life, I always try to do the right thing, when I find myself going down the wrong path, I feel on the inside of me that I must pull myself out of that path and pray for God to lead me in the right direction. Our purpose here on this world is to do the right thing and let God help lead our way.
The Bible is a great source for morality (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, 2 Timothy 3:16: Peter 1:21). Morality is determined through the knowledge of God’s law and is the basis upon which we differentiate between right and wrong. Acknowledging Jesus as the utmost standard of right and wrong. Jesus is the eternal standard of wrong and right. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me” (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, John 14:6). He is the same today, yesterday, and forever. His moral values don’t ever change. When it comes to the question of destiny, I believe when a person dies, their soul goes to heaven or hell. In the Bible it says, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying” (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, John 11: 25-26). I also believe when we die there will be no more grief, pain, and no more suffering just as it says in the Bible (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Revelation 21:4).

thy neighbor (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Mark 12:31). This is the second most important commandment in the Bible. We should not show hate to people just because they have different beliefs, but rather share the gospel to people that don’t know Jesus.
When it comes to how to act toward a family member who is hard to get along with, God gave us instructions in the Bible that tells us to bear with one another in love (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Ephesians 4:2). If you satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness (English Standard Version Bible, 2001, Isa. 58:10).
