NSTRUCTIONS
The student should consider these two articles along with the video presentation provided in Module 1: Week 1 as he/she writes the Introduction. Averbeck, Richard. “Spirit, Community, and Mission: A Biblical Theology for Spiritual Formation,” Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care
, Vol. 1, No. 1, 27-53, 2008. AND
Averbeck, Richard. “The Bible in Spiritual Formation,” in The Kingdom Life: A Practical
Theology of Discipleship and Spiritual Formation
, Allen Andrews (Ed.), NavPress, 2010.
It should be evident to the reader that students have carefully read and considered all of the above required resources as they write their Introduction and lay out the major contours of their biblical theology of spiritual formation. The Introduction itself should be 3-4 pages long, double-
spaced with 12 point font such as Times New Roman. Formatting of each part of the paper should conform to the current edition of Turabian. The student will include an expanding Bibliography in each submission.
