Seeing the world through the eyes of Jesus, Loving as Jesus loves, and an
egg. All these things tie together, but how? I’ll begin with how my worldview
all started with a phrase.
What would Jesus do? The foundation of my biblical worldview started here.
From a young age, I was taught to ask this question. WWJD was plastered on
everything in the early 2000s; it was a consistent reminder to stop and think
before you acted. As I grew older, my worldview shifted. I do not often tell
myself what Jesus would do but love as he would love. One of my favorite
verses is “We love because he first loved us” 1 John 4:19 . I believe a biblical
worldview is looking at everyone and everything through the eyes of Christ. I
strengthen my worldview by spending time in God’s word and in prayer.
Ayesha Siddiqi said, “Be whom you needed when you were younger.” I had a
wonderful children’s minister growing up. She is a large part of the reason I
work with children today. I believe working with kids is my purpose in life. I
get to share my love and the love of Jesus with kids every day. My goal in life
is to impact at least one child’s life the way my pastor impacted mine. I felt
led to go back to school to study the Bible. I still do not know where the Lord
will ultimately lead me, but I am excited about the journey thus far.
Different cultures are such fantastic gifts from God. Everyone is created in
the Lord’s image. Christians, Atheists, Muslims, and Jews, are all people who
are created in his image for his purpose. Though we all have different
traditions and different practices, we all bleed the same. There is a
remarkable experiment I do with the kids and an egg. You take a brown and
white egg and explain how they look different on the outside. However, on
the inside, they are the same.
What would Jesus do, sharing God’s love daily and an egg. All these things
come together to show how, regardless of our differences, we are all the
same. We are all sinners, redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
