For this assignment, I think that two areas I can say that I have knowledge in or feel confident in are IEPS. I know that an IEP stands for individualized Education program and is implemented in a school setting, typically for school aged children 3 years old to 21 years old. I know that ISFP is an acronym that stands for Individualized service family plan. The ISFP is typically used in early intervention. However, a 504 plan may be introduced if a child presents a struggle but doesn’t need or qualify for special education services. A 504 plan focuses more on modifications and typically depends on the school. A 504 does not include academic goals, benchmarks, or any kind of measurements. I know that whether an IEP or ISFP both have a need of real and unfiltered data. I would like to know more about different approaches that I can use in my classroom. I think that I struggle the most with observations because I have a hard time trying to make them as unbiased as possible, I feel as if I struggle because I tend to put my “opinion” in there rather than the data that presents itself. I feel this topic is incredibly important to me and the field of early childhood education because without programs or interventions in place such as these it would make it extremely hard for children and educators alike to make the learning journey a successful one. When programs such as these are implemented, it makes for a successful learning experience for all involved.
