2 Climate Change Issue Climate change has become one of today's most important global challenges, having far- reaching implications for ecosystems, economic growth, and the well-being of people. Climate change has become one of today's most important global challenges, having far-reaching implications for ecosystems, economic growth, and the well-being of people. Among other things, climate change is generating disruptions in atmospheric circulation, higher sea levels, catastrophic storms, decreased biodiversity, and adjustments in agricultural production. These shifts have far-reaching consequences for global civilization, particularly disadvantaged groups, and future generations. Climate Change on a Local Level The first key aspect of climate change in Virginia are rising temperatures. The average temperature in Virginia has risen steadily during the last century. Summers that are hotter and winters that are milder have grown more regular (DEQ, 2008) . The second aspect of climate change in Virginia is sea levels are rising. Coastal communities such as Norfolk and Virginia Beach have been especially at risk from sea-level rise. Because of its low-lying nature, the area known as Hampton Roads is one of the most vulnerable places in the United States (DEQ, 2008) . The third aspect of climate change in Virginia is agriculture and water resources. Changing variations in precipitation and rising temperatures have ramifications for agriculture in Virginia. Farmers face challenges from changing seasons for agriculture, a lack of water, and an increase in pests and illnesses. Droughts can reduce freshwater availability, affecting the amount of water available for drinking purposes, agriculture, and industry (DEQ, 2008) . The last aspect of climate change in Virginia is health risks. Rising temperatures can cause illnesses associated with heat and the spread of transmitted by insects’ infections such as Lyme disease (DEQ, 2008) . DEQ
3 (2008) stated in the report that the climate change research in Virginia necessitates a multidisciplinary approach that includes climate research, ecosystems, public health, economics, and policy evaluation. Researchers, politicians, and local communities are working together to reduce and adapt to climate change issues, with a focus on lowering emission levels of greenhouse gases and strengthening resilience during the effects of climate change (DEQ, 2008) . Climate Change on a National Level The first key aspect of climate change on a global or national level are temperature rise. Because to the development of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the earth's atmosphere, worldwide temperatures have been continuously rising. This process, often known as global warming, is the fundamental cause of climate change (USGCRP, 2018) . The second key aspect of climate change on a global or national level are impacts on agriculture. Climate change affects worldwide food security through modifying the seasons of growth, variations in precipitation, and illnesses and pests’ prevalence. Failures in agriculture and fluctuations in food prices might result from these changes (USGCRP, 2018) . The last key aspect of climate change on a global or national level are global migration. People in areas of greatest vulnerability could find themselves compelled to move due to shifts in the environment, shortages of resources, and conflicts generated by climate-related stressors, which might worsen existing migratory trends (USGCRP, 2018) . USGCRP (2018) informed in the report that climate change is a multifaceted and interdependent subject that cuts across borders. To limit its consequences and adapt to the changes currently occurring, global collaboration and coordinated initiatives at the national, regional, and local levels are required. Addressing climate change is critical to ensuring the future of the world and the well-being of its residents (USGCRP, 2018) . Identify Two Sources

4 The first source is the Governor’s Commission on Climate Change (2008). The Virginia Climate Action Plan is a government document that provides a thorough summary of Virginia's climate change actions. It covers several facets of climate action, such as reducing the release of greenhouse gases, developing renewable energy, planning for resilience, and implementing adaptation strategies. In the report there are key features about climate change in Virginia. This report gives informational learning about Virginia’s climate change policies, objectives, issues, and methods for minimizing and adapting to climate change. It provides detailed insights into how the state address the regional difficulties brought by climate change. The second source is the National Climate Assessment (NCA)- United States Fourth National Climate Assessment (2018). The National Climate Assessment (NCA) is a government- mandated examination that evaluates the effects of climate change on the United States. In 2018, the Fourth National Climate Assessment was released. This evaluation includes proof and an examination of the effects of climate change in the United States. Food and Agriculture, health care, energy, infrastructure, and ecosystems are among the industries covered. It also reveals regional differences in ecological effects and adaptation initiatives at the national and local levels. The NCA is an essential resource for comprehending the precise implications of climate change on a national scale, making it very relevant for US policymakers, academics, and stakeholders. It provides extensive details on the financial, social, and environmental effects of climate change. .
