Researching it can help identify the root causes of homelessness and develop effective interventions. Summarize any current knowledge or opinions you have regarding this issue, citing your sources as relevant: Your response: In my opinion, one large factor of homelessness is due to the lack of affordable housing and poverty. There are several agencies that deal with the issue of homelessness. Three that I chose to research is the National Alliance to End Homelessness, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH). The National Alliance to End Homelessness is a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in the U.S. The organization provides research and advocacy to support efforts to address homelessness at the national and local levels. U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is the federal agency responsible for addressing housing needs, including homelessness, in the U.S. The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) is an independent federal agency that works with state and local governments, as well as non-profit organizations, to implement evidence-based strategies to address homelessness. 2
