SOSC102 Report 2 Narrative: Introduction: We are learning about social inequality and the ways that it can affect others in the world as well we are also given three different social constructs which are race, ethnicity, and gender. I am going to give you some insight into what I think and feel about this and how it can affect so many people in the world. I am going to describe each so that you can have a better understanding of how this can affect so many people due to their race, ethnicity, and gender. I will describe what social inequality is and give similarities and differences to the different social constructs listed above Body Social inequality is defined as "the uneven and unfair distribution of opportunities and rewards that increase power, prestige, and wealth for individuals or groups; social disparity". The types of inequality that are relevant include class, gender, global, physical, and racial. When doing this report, I talked about Race and education and that children who need their education can only get proper education depending on where they are living and if there is funding to help those get the proper things to help them learn correctly. I also talked about Ethnicity, and wealth and how Ethnic and racial minorities tend to be affected by wealth inequality. Lastly, I talked about Gender, and how when it comes to income, women may have more educational background and or experience in some things, but men will always get paid more. The similarity between race, ethnicity, and gender is that people tend to judge a person's gender, ethnicity, or race by the way they look. The difference is that race is how a person looks, ethnicity is related to culture and heritage and gender is whether you are male or female. If I had to summarize how each of these constructs can affect an individual in the workplace, I would say that when it comes to race is that companies with more diversity can have a higher increase in their profit or value as diverse teams make better decisions. When it comes to ethnicity brings individuals together from different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and problem-solving approaches. This allows more creativity and leads to solutions. Lastly, when it comes to gender, there are ways that certain genders get treated better in the workplace than others, which then leads to the most important thing which is discrimination. Depending on where you work Women can be favored more than men and vs versa. It depends on the job at hand. For example, we can say that if and man and woman worked in construction, they would feel that the man can do more than the woman. If a man worked in a haircutter place it can be said that the women know more about doing hair than the man. Conclusion The main points that I have covered about social inequality based on the three categories of race, ethnicity, and gender go hand in hand with our daily lives and how a person can be judged and classified. I talked about social inequality and how it is the uneven and unfair distribution of opportunities and rewards that increase power, prestige, and wealth for individuals or groups; social disparity and the ways that it can affect how people are viewed and how it can affect our
