Racial Profiling Analysis 2 People with the authority to define crimes are the foundation of the Labeling Theory and the designation of someone as a criminal. Any opportunity a person formerly had is lost when classified as a criminal. Which ultimately might encourage the individual receiving the label to engage in threatening behavior? This idea explains why racial inequality has existed throughout history and how minorities are frequently held accountable for crimes they did not commit.
