1 Assessment of Young Children Cindy Alvarez EDTE 290 Chapter 7 Reflection
2 In chapter 7 we learn about the assessment of young children. There is a rang of words that have become controversial such as high stakes testing, assessment, and accountability. Parents and teachers question the need for these assessments and how the results are used to reflect the student. They are used for collecting data that are given in a prescribed manner and reported numerically. Things to consider with testing are the benefits for the children, what decisions will be made with the results, is training necessary to administer the test, and how will families be informed of the test results (Tyminski, 2013).
