The Robertson Family Therapy As I reflect on my fourth session with the Robertson family, I feel satisfied with the progress we made. During the session, I assisted Dan, Peter, and Marie in recognizing how their individual actions were contributing to their family's problems. To address these issues, I have chosen to utilize the Bowen family therapy model and Cognitive Behavior Family Therapy. This approach will enable them to identify negative interaction patterns within the family, and develop strategies to prevent them from causing further harm. In the future, I will focus on assisting each member of the family in adopting new strategies and behaviors that will help them maintain their recovery. This will involve working closely with everyone to identify their individual strengths and weaknesses, and then developing a personalized plan of action that is tailored to their specific needs. If the Robertsons do not accept these interventions, I will suggest some alternatives to help them get back on track. These suggestions may include seeking additional therapy or counseling, joining a support group, or taking some time to reflect on their own behavior and make positive changes. Additionally, I will monitor Dan closely to see if there are any signs that he is not responding well to our efforts to help him. If this is the case, I will work with the rest of the family to develop a new approach that better suits his needs and helps him achieve the positive outcomes we are all striving for. After working with the Robertson family, I have noticed a recurring problem that is affecting their family dynamic and functionality. The issue is a lack of effective communication between family members, resulting in misunderstandings, conflicts, and tension. It is essential for the family to recognize the importance of communication in maintaining healthy relationships. Once the family acknowledges this issue, we can work together to resolve the smaller, intricate issues that have arisen from the communication breakdown.
After careful consideration, I have decided to utilize two distinct family interventions for the Robertson family. Specifically, I will be implementing the Bowen family treatment model and Cognitive behavior family therapy. The rationale behind this decision is that the Robertson family seems to be struggling with communication issues, which are preventing them from functioning as a cohesive unit. Firstly, I have chosen to utilize the Bowen family treatment model as it has been proven to be effective in helping families overcome communication obstacles. This particular model encourages each member of the family to differentiate their emotions and take responsibility for managing them independently, rather than relying on others to do so. Additionally, this treatment model emphasizes individual accountability for one's own emotions and feelings, rather than discussing or projecting onto someone else's feelings. These are just a few of the many benefits that the Bowen family treatment model can provide to families in need. Secondly, I will be introducing the Robertson family to Cognitive behavior family therapy, which is another effective approach for addressing communication issues within families. This treatment model focuses on changing negative thoughts and emotions, which in turn can help to change the behavior of the entire family unit. Rather than singling out specific family members, CBFT addresses the issues facing the family as a whole. Furthermore, the therapist takes on a more directed role in CBFT, offering family members specific tools and strategies to assist in altering their behavior and mental processes. Overall, I am confident that implementing these two family interventions will help the Robertson family overcome their communication issues and function better as a united entity. My primary objective is to aid and support family members who are in the process of maintaining their recovery. I plan to accomplish this by imparting effective communication and coping strategies, which will enable them to interact with one another in a respectful and
