• Explain The Feudal System In Medieval Europe

During the medieval times Kings had absolute power and the Catholic Church made sure God help the King retain this power. During this time feudalism was the structure that shaped society. In the feudalism structure the people that work the land the poor got cero power and live at the mercy of the barons. Barons where the owners of the land that people where let to work and make really low amounts of money while the baron sells and exchange the goods produced by the land and makes a fortune. At the end of the day the land belongs to the king and the king taxes the barons and collects money from all the land making him very, very wealthy and powerful.

What if you had to serve a specific lord in battle, provide shelter, and supply food in exchange for a small piece of land (OI)? This is what life and feudalism was like for nobles during the Middle Ages in the Roman Empire. The Middle Ages, or Medieval period, was a period that lasted from about 500 to 1500 AD. Created in the Middle Ages, feudalism was a system of laws for kings, nobles, knights, and serfs (Doc. 1). Feudalism was a social, economic, and political hierarchy during the Medieval period for many reasons.

During the middle-ages, approximately from Norman invasion of England to the end of the Wars of the Roses, England changed into a society on the brink of creating an empire. Though during the medieval time period, there was a system in place called the feudal system. There were the different levels of status and power, starting with the king, then lords, knights, and serfs. The lords would be given land for having shown loyalty to the king. In turn the knights promised protection and loyalty to the lords, as did the serfs.

The Feudal System The Feudal System is the system that controlled how people lived in Europe between the 9th and 15th centuries. It also determined who were more respected than others. The order from, highest to lowest on the structure was the Pope, Kings and Queens, Lords and Ladies, Priests and Monks, Knights, merchants and farmers, and peasants. Those higher on the structure lived in better houses, wore better clothing and lived a healthier life than those lower on the structure.

The system got a lot of support from the church and the clergy. Since they were rich and had a lot of power, they brought it to feudalism. This didn't last long as there were many factors leading to the end of feudalism in the fifteenth century. Examples were the Black Death, the peasants wanting more rights, lords were willing to sell their freedom to other people. In exchange for military protection and other services, a landowner, or lord, granted land, or fief, to someone, who was called the vassal. An example of this system is shown with Charles the Simple and Rollo. Rollo, the head of a viking army, had been plundering and leading raids on the Seine River Valley for years. Charles the Simple, the king of France at the time, granted Rollo a piece of French territory if he would stop these raids in return. Charles the Simple would have been the lord in this situation, while Rollo was the vassal. Other rulers and warriors during this time made similar agreements in many parts of Europe.

Feudalism: A dominant political and social system used in Western-Medieval Europe from the 9th to 12th century. The Feudal system was based on reciprocal relationships, rewarding land to the lower classes for respect, legal and military service which reinforced a social hierarchy where Kings were at the top with Nobles, Knights and peasants below them.

Feudalism was the system used in Europe during the late middle ages. The economic part of feudalism was centered on the lord's estate or manor. A lord's manor consisted of a peasant village, a church, farm land, a mill and the lord's castle. Feudalism was split in society levels. Kings would be on top with the most power, then upper lords followed by lesser lords, underneath the lesser lords were the knights, and then the serfs being the lowest social class.

The Feudal system was a hierarchy that divided all the people in the country into classes. With Feudalism, everyone had a place to live at and a job to earn money from. The social structure consisted of four classes; the King at the top, the Lords below him, then the Knights, and then the Peasants and the Serfs at the bottom. Each class worked to help each other in return for supplies.

In Medieval times during the 10th and 13th centuries, a form of political and social organization called feudalism was a way of life that had great effect on people of the time and on the modern world. Feudalism was developed because of the weakness of Europe and it's kings. The word feudalism comes from the word fief, which was the land held on condition of feudal service, similar to an estate (English). The fiefs bound together lords and vassals. Feudalism was a structure in which a lord divided his land into smaller parts to give to lesser lords (“Feudalism”).

European feudal institutions revolved around political and military relationships. The feudal political order developed into a complicated network of lord-vassal relationships, with lords having overlords, and overlords owing allegiance to kings. On these foundations early kingdoms, such as England and France, were built, but in other areas, such as modern-day Germany, the feudal organization remained highly decentralized.

In the rather limited amount of years I’ve been on this Earth, I have found myself drawn to the world of creativity. I kept it in my pocket constantly, always knowing that I’d need creative insight in this world to solve difficult problems. I always had art as an outlet for many things, and soon I became addicted to colors, shades, and designs. It’s very important to me, and I hope to go further with it. To me, it is vexing when others hold an obvious distaste for trying anything new or creative. I don’t hope to change these individual’s minds, as that would be impossible, but rather, I hope to educate them on why having a creative, or artistic sense-the new ‘sixth sense’ if you will, is vital to being a part of society. Being creative, or artistic, is important, because it allows me to break away from the stubborn rules society has forced upon us. When I draw, I have no boundaries other than what I give myself. I don’t have to restrain what I draw, as no one else will see it unless I want them to. It’s important to have this break from ‘the real world’ because without it, the world seems very bleak and downright sorrowful. Artistic values are a necessity to me, because without them, I wouldn’t have as many opportunities to better the world around me. Art provides many career paths, such as comic books, or even advertising. Every art community can have a huge impact on people’s daily lives, without them even realizing it. Take for instance, the billboard you drive by every day to work, or the comic strips you read on your Sunday paper. Though seemingly insignificant in your eyes, they are so important in the way you make decisions. When advertisements on TV are shown, no one really thinks about the artistic aspects the creators use to influence decisions. A prime example of this, that everyone knows purely by the now recognizable song, is Sarah McLachlan’s ASPCA commercial seen constantly, with the same set up. But what everyone might not know, is that it took creative insight to pair the sad puppy images, with the depressing song. The artists knew that these things would guide you to feel sympathetic, and maybe even adopt a puppy. The world would be very different if there were no artists to create these. It

Earlier this year, the state of Michigan has decided to close 37 schools at the end of the twenty-seventeen to twenty-eighteen year due to poor standardized test scores, 16 of these schools are a part of the Detroit Public Schools District, a district known for its poverty. Unfortunately, this is not true for only one state. Several public schools across the United States are facing the threat of closure. Education is highly expensive, costing nearly eleven-thousand dollars per student for one year of public education. Many blame school choice, several more blame Betsy DeVos. Their anger isn’t completely unjust. After all, public schools are losing well trained teachers, after school extracurriculars and summer programs are shut down and most importantly, public schools are closing their doors to the public entirely.
