Nowadays, phones have been glued to our hands. But how many people would be attracted to their phones if they know they are being tracked? Over the recent years as technology began to grow phones has been a big success. People are making calls, sending text messages, accessing the Internet , and sharing personal data.It doesn't matter whether your phone is a smartphone or whether you use it to make calls; as long as your phone is turned on, it registers its location with cell phone networks several times a minute, and all U.S. cell phone companies hold on to that data, some of them for years.

Technology has become more accessible to the point it has become easier for government to watch everyone's move. In this generation technology takes over everyone's daily life, where people wakes up and the first thing is look at is the phone. A phone there are many things on it, like text, pictures and videos. Phones can do many things, but there is a possibility where the government can tap into a phone and look through it. The government can watch everyone’s: text, history, private info, and pictures. Government has no right to looking through people’s personal info because it violates Fourth amendment, Blackmail, and Creates fear.

Do you feel comfortable with someone watching and listening to every single thing you do? American citizens are being violated every single moment. For instance, the government can track and record every single thing we do. They can even go back and provide records from a long time ago. In this case, the privacy violations Americans experience today are similar to the privacy violations in 1984 because of the ways they exploit everyone’s privacy.

Nowadays in today’s society it's like if we’re living 1984 just how George Orwell predicted it would be. At all times we are all being monitored whether it's thru a camera or an electronic. The national security is now able to keep telephone & internet records. Just when you thought your private moments were private, turns out you're wrong.

Is anyone’s private information contained in their cell phone actually private? Are appointments, bank information, conversations, the user’s location or other sensitive personal information truly confidential? Is there a Big Brother watching? There is no definitive answer to any of these questions. From the beginning of time to now, privacy has become more and more scarce. Through new developments in technology, it is hard to believe that someone is not watching your move at any given moment. The government’s job is to keep Americans safe, but where is the line drawn? Where is the difference between having a reasonable doubt and accessing information solely because these government officials have the power to do so? The government has infringed upon the rights of the American people when it comes to this topic.

Today’s invasion of privacy from American citizens could be considered Orwellian. “Orwellian… might refer to a totalitarian government, a government that tries to control all the actions and beliefs of its citizens. It might refer to the use of surveillance technology, such as hidden cameras and microphones, as part of that effort to control” (Edlund, 2016, p. 53). Another reason why citizens should be worried is that there are new technologies advancing each day. Every day a better technological device is invented and it only gets better, advancing ti’s way up to the top.

When in the hands of a malevolent government or simply the misuse of technology, can lead to horrifying consequences that fall on the a dystopian society surrounding George Orwell’s 1984. Today the government is willing to go as far as monitor everyday lives just to find out what they need to know and willingly use people and monitor them if they need too.

What is privacy? Is it the ability to be in a situation which allows you to do things without other people seeing you or disturbing you? NSA Phone tapping is a program that allows a person to monitor whom a person calls and when a person calls. This program started in 1952 but required a warrant to spy on Americans. After the attacks on the twin towers The white house asked the NSA what they could do to protect American while still being legal. The White house allowed the NSA to track Americans calling a person from Afghanistan. The NSA believed they were authorized to track domestic phone calls and emails, eventually the attorney general decided the program was legal. Only recently when Edward Snowden exposed the NSA of their wicked doings there has been an unrest among Americans. N and advancing technologies such as NSA phone tapping has certainly negatively affected privacy in this era because it causes the citizen’s moral to be low, it can be obtained by bad people and it's ineffective.

Even if you are not doing anything wrong, the NSA got together with cellular companies to access any phone call or text message at any time or any date. With more and more Americans logging into social media cites and using text-messaging devices, the more providers of metadata the government has. Being in the middle of the Digital Age, we have to be much more careful of the kinds of information we put in our digital devices.

Stingray is a sophisticated, portable device that is able to trail cell phone signals inside homes, vehicles and even insulated buildings. In this system, Stingray trackers operate as fake cell towers.
