1984 By George Orwell's 1984 And The NSA

The NSA has been proven to be spying on United States citizens without proof of those citizens being labeled as a threat to the United States or anyone. Just like in the book 1984 by George Orwell, the government was spying on their citizens for no reason. There are many similarities between the book 1984 and the NSA. Many individuals either succeeded or tried to show the terrible things that their government was doing. The NSA has been known in the past to protect the United States but since Edward Snowden exposed the NSA the United States citizens put less trust in their government in fear their rights will be taken away. NSA stands for National Security Agency. They collect and process information and data for foreign intelligence as well as protect communications networks and information system for the United States. (“What Exactly is the NSA”). We need the NSA because when they use their powers for good they can gather information for potential terrorists and stop what they are planning before people are hurt or killed (“NSA Intelligence Gathering Programs Keep us Safe”). Edward Snowden was born on 21 June 1983. When he was in his teens, got sick for around 5 months and could not participate in school. At the same time, his parents were also drifting away from each other and he was starting to struggle in school, to the point that he could not finish high school. In 1999 when he was 16, he enrolled at Anne Community College where he took computer classes.
