The U.S. Army, with a theme--“American Solider - Always Ready, Always Leading,” will celebrate its 241st birthday in New York City on Tuesday, June 14 at 9:45 A.M. The U.S. Army is the emblem of the strategic land power of the joint force and called upon to prevent, shape and win against U.S. adversaries. “Our most valued assets, indeed, the Nation’s most valued assets, are our Soldiers and our solemn commitment must always be to never send them into harm’s way untrained, poorly led, undermanned, or with less than the best equipment we can provide,” stated Chief of Staff of the Army Gen. Mark A. Milley.
The United States army values soldiers that are responsibility for their actions and equipment. Being responsibility means being
In the United States Army we are taught to live by the Seven Army Values. They are broken down to us in the acronym ‘LDRSHIP’ which is short for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage. We are all taught these 7 Army values repeatedly from day one in the United States Army. First we memorize these values. Then we are trained to live by them. All of these 7 values coincide with each other, and play an important roll in our Army lives. These 7 Army Values also play well into life outside the Army in our personal life. People sometimes do not realize the importance these values have on the way we are viewed by the people who look up to the men and woman who are privileged enough to represent the

In order to advance the vital interests of the United States, we need a military that is equipped with best of everything and the backing of a nation to use them to defend our national interests and goals when needed.
The history of force reductions after the Cold War era and Operation Desert Storm proves the reliance on contract support to America’s fighting force was important to accomplish the mission. (CGSC, 2015). The Army should maintain its level of contract support relative to the current budget constraints and force reductions. Contract support with oversight from Army Material Command is a force multiplier but will require several mitigation measures in order to be effective in future campaigns.
In war teamwork is paramount, and without it one may not find the motivation to carry on. “They were afraid of dying but they were even more afraid to show it. (O’Brien 109” Each man carried the weight of the man next to him. Never
The 27 Club is a concept referred to popular artists that have tragically passed away at the age of 27. Artists such as Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, and many other artists are members of the 27 Club. Fans began to connect the dots in the early 1970s when artists were dying two years apart at the age of 27. Many people believe it is a curse, while others believe it is a coincidence. All the artists in the 27 Club were at their peak of fame and becoming extremely wealthy.

In the eighteen century, men and women didn't truly seem alike. Civilization saw woman as a house wife and man as the hard worker, meaning they both had different roles. Woman took care of the children, men put food in the table, while women cooked and cleaned and possibly took care of everyone in the household. Men had to work in mine to help there wife. Thus this mean that men in the eighteen century treated women unfairly.
Taking care of Soldiers is the quintessential task that we all will strive to excel in. We
e 262 pilots claimed a total of 542 Allied kills,[8] although higher claims are sometimes made.[Note 1] The Allies countered its potential effectiveness in the air by attacking the aircraft on the ground and during takeoff and landing. Engine reliability problems, from the pioneering nature of its Junkers Jumo 004 axial-flow turbojet engines—the first ever placed in mass production—and attacks by Allied forces on fuel supplies during the deteriorating late-war situation also reduced the effectiveness of the aircraft as a fighting force. In the end, the Me 262 had a negligible impact on the course of the war as a result of its late introduction and the consequently small numbers put in operational
My Nana was a person who always claimed to appreciate the simple things in life: a hot cup of coffee, gardening, walking the dog, and the ability to laugh at oneself when things go wrong. For her 90th birthday my mother and I decided to plan her a surprise party under the premise it was just going to be the three of us, instead of two dozen family and friends.
By volunteering to fight in the greatest military in the world, we as leaders, have made the conscience decision to help build a unified ground force that is capable of working
Throughout the span of his life, Ernest Hemingway had adopted an ethos of bravado and machismo. He served in the Red Cross during the First World War as well as serving as a war correspondent in the Spanish Civil War and World War II. He was brought up on war crimes for breaking the Geneva conventions and was known to hunt German submarines with hand grenades from his fishing boat. As a sports angler, he was known to kill sharks with a machine gun to prevent them from stealing his catch. He set the world record for the most marlin caught in one day. Hemingway’s other interests included big game hunting, boxing, bullfighting, horse riding, flying planes, and motor racing (Hotchner).
In other words, the Army’s mission is to deploy when needed and to win in combat in support of the interests of the United States. It conducts training and operations in every part of the world with 520,000 active duty Soldiers in 223 occupational specialties or jobs. The mission seems relatively simple but recruiting Soldiers to fulfill this mission and retaining them is much more difficult than one would realize. I will present a few of the benefits in the Army’s EVP that motivate Soldiers to “be the best they can be” to make America and the world a better place.
