In order for music to sound perfect, it should have best harmony, rhythm, texture and melody. There are elements in music that help create a beautiful piece of art.
Out of eleven elements of music include a Rhythm, rhythm is the flow of music through time, also it can be defined as the specific order of note lengths in the music. For example, we can feel rhythm when we breathe. A rhythm has several correlative aspects like beat, meter, accent, syncopation and tempo (pg 29). There are five aspects of rhythm; however only three aspects has been covered in this essay. "Beat" is the basic pulse or what our foot might tap to. Each measure has same number of beats in it as beats are grouped into measures.

A "Meter" is known as time signatures in music, as they are always notated with two or more fixed numbers, sometimes top and bottom of the one another, as they known as “duple” or “triple” meters. A duple measure has two beats and a pattern with three beats of measure is called triple meter. As end of each measure there is vertical lines mark, which known as downbeat. A downbeat is the strong or weak beat distinction it has feeling of rest and endness. The pattern with four beats is an "quadruple" meter. An unaccented pulse preceding the downbeat is an "upbeat", which separates four beats.
