There are 54 articles which relate directly to schools. Some included: Article 14- Children have a right to freedom of religion although they should also be free to examine their beliefs. Article 13- Children have a right to receive and share information as long as that information is not damaging to others. Article 28- All children have an equal right to education. Article 29- Children's education should develop each child's personality, talents and abilities to the fullest. They should also learn to live peacefully and respect the environment and other people. Disability Discrimination Act (1995) and (2005)- The DDA bought in to support the rights of disabled people to take a full and active part in society. It gives them equality of access and the same opportunities to participate in society as a non-disabled people. This important piece of legislation gives disabled people rights regarding the way in which they received services, facilities or goods. This also included education, care and play services. A disabled person is someone who has a physical or mental impairment that affects their ability to carry out normal day to day activities. This will be long-term.

It grants rights for children in peacetime as well as during armed conflict, and provides for the implementation of those rights. It can promote anti-discriminatory practice by giving children protection and rights. It can also make sure that children will be given somewhere safe to be; not near any war zones and hazardous areas which could cause ill- health.
The United Nations convention on the rights of the child is to promote all aspects for the care, development and education of children, non discrimination on the grounds of gender, religion, disability, language, ethnic/social origin, civil and political rights, economic, social, cultural and protective rights.
It requires reasonable adjustments to be made in various areas, so that disabled people are not being discriminated against. The human Rights and Equality commissions assist that individual to up hold their rights as set out in the DDA. The Act covers all four main areas such as; transport, housing, education and employment. Also it is unlawful under the DDA for an employer to treat a person with disabilities less favourably that someone else just because of their disability. The DDA provides a legal protection from any discrimination in employment, access to buildings or transport.

Therefore teachers should have enough knowledge regarding the principles. Also should teach them about child rights because who know their rights are better to claim them .
