Whenever love appear not to work for two individuals, there will be breakups, loss and recollection. The theme of love revolves around breakups, and recollection after love towards someone has failed to materialize.
The film (500) Days of summer is a film that present one of the most unique style as it comes out in a nonlinear narrative. This means that the film focuses different day in which the main character’s activities were considered worth airing or presenting. The film revolves around an intimate relationship between two individuals, Tom Hansen and Summer Finn. Summer Finn joins Tom’s place of work as an assistant to his boss, (Steelberg et al). It is evident that Tom is slowly falling in love with her. At this point in time, summer make Tom believe she does not believe in anything about love. To some extent, this was one of the ways of keeping Tom at bay. It is clear according to this play or film that with her negative attitude towards love relationships, Tom’s efforts to make her fall in love may never bear the expected fruits. This is simply because summer did not find a scent of true love in Tom. The main them that set in in the film is the theme of loss. To ensure that Tom gets over his losses after the breakup, they get his younger sister, Rachael to console him and help him move on with his life, (Steelberg et al). It therefore clear that his experience with summer is what led Tom to feeling a great loss but on the other hand, it helped her view life with a different perspective. This is because, after the break up, Tom understands that breaking up with summer was like spilt milk which can never be collected in any way.
