The Law of Attraction states that one sends out signals into the universe through predominant thoughts and feelings. Accordingly, the universe reciprocates whatever the individual is fixated upon, positive or negative. In another article dealing with the Law, I established that the Law of Attraction will work with any system of faith, or lack there of. In this lesson, we will discuss another fundamental aspect of the Law of Attraction; once the individual begins to apply the law's teachings, said individual must anticipate resistance. Stephen Covey recommends in his book, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, to begin with the end in mind. This little golden nugget of wisdom translates, in this situation, to being aware that applying the Law of Attraction will not be your one, uninterrupted ticket to everything you have ever dreamed of having or doing. Rather, begin to apply the law with the anticipation that most of the resistance to it will …show more content…
Your First Resistance Will Come From YOU. As stated earlier, the first stages of resistance are going to come from within. Self-doubt, procrastination, impatience and looking to shortcut natural growth are impedance from within. A critical factor in utilizing the full potential of the Law of Attraction is to understand what is truly important to you, and what your personal weaknesses are that are keeping you from achieving the kind of life you truly desire. Having this fundamental understanding of oneself is just another combatant against the forces from both within oneself and the outside world that will rise up against your success. The Law of Attraction is real and can really help you. Do not fall into that crowd declaring the Law is completely illegitimate because they tried it and it did not work. They swear they were thinking positively and negative things started to happen. You are in control of your destiny. Your future greatness depends only on the strength of your resolve and your ability to overcome
Today, societal norms are a significant factor of day to day life as people are expected to follow them, since they will otherwise be seen as abnormal. However; sometimes, people decide to deviate from these norms and choose not to conform to them. Usually, social pressure is present and it effects an individual's decisions. Resistance to social influence refers to the ability of people to withstand the social pressure to conform to the majority or to obey authority. Stanley Milgram has conducted a research regarding obedience and social influence, in which he has discovered a number of observations and interpretations. This essay will describe the two explanations of resistance to social influence, and evaluate them.
Successful people you will generally hear them reference the fact that one of their greatest motivating forces was in fact fear of failure. Their fear drove them to work harder and leave no stone unturned. This is a great example of how a potential negative force can be turned into a powerfully positive motivating factor.
There are quite a few things in life we attract. Attraction is the main ingredient when looking for a girlfriend, boyfriend or spouse. There are a ton of things we attract in life, but they're also many things we foolish humans repel, or alienate ourselves from. Sometimes we repel things such as success without even trying so how about we turn that on its head and start learning to attract success.
The next Omega technique is to simply deplete the resource, leaving one vulnerable to persuasive communications. It is important to note, however, that the ego-depletion theory of self-control affirms that resistance can be replenished, but a slower rate than it is consumed. It also states that one’s capacity for resistance can increase with repeated self-control, much like exercising to building muscle. One important takeaway is that we are less resistant to second requests than initial appeals (Baumeister, Muraven & Tice, 2000). Nevertheless, this method appears to be flawed. It may work well on people with little self-control but would be difficult to apply toward those with a greater resource pool/greater resistance.
If you have seen the film The Secret which only few people have watched then you may be surprised to know as to how to follow any Law of Attraction so that you may gain prosperity in the life. There are seven behaviors that promote learning. They are listening, paying attention, raising your hand, being respectful, using indoor voices, staying in your chair, being responsible, & trying your best to get your work done. The behaviors I consider the most important for my learning is, being responsible, & getting my work done.
The basic principles of the law of Attraction states that we become whatever we create through our own thought. By allowing negative thoughts to cultivate in our minds, we will by default attract more of the same into our future. Imagine the moment you open your credit card
By applying the law of attraction and this technique each morning, you can bring into your life whatever you desire! It is a simple, yet powerful tool.
In his book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Covey (2004) states, "Management is efficiency in climbing the ladder of success; leadership determines whether the ladder is leaning against the right wall" (pg. 101). As one climbs the ladder of success, their achievements are in the hands of the individuals they manage. With today’s complex and rapidly changing health care, the role of the manager is reliant on nurse leaders in creating success in continuous quality improvement and patient satisfaction. This paper will compare and contrast the approach of the nursing leader and manager in continuous quality improvement (CQI) and patient satisfaction. Furthermore, this author will identify their own personal leadership style and
I think win/lose way to often, it demonstrates my selfishness that is influencing me. It generated a negative emotional bank account by my sister. I think win/lose, especially with my sister; I believe I made her think lose/win to get it over with. She doesn’t think that way just with me, but also with other people, because I think I made her insecure about herself. Now that I have realized that, I am trying to compensate by either thinking lose/win or win/win. So I will get back in the positive emotional bank account. It is quite a challenge for someone who has always been thinking win/lose to go over to win/win or lose/win. I do believe I have been working on it very well and that it’s going a lot better. It has already demonstrated my self-awareness, and imagination, but I have to listen a little more to my conscience, to accomplish my independent will.
According to Stephen Covey, the unique trait that we, people, are separated from animals is the ability to think about our very thought process or what we call, “self-awareness”. In the social mirror, it was stated that seeing our own selves is like facing the crazy mirror room in the carnival. Our reactions are based on the opinions, perceptions, and the paradigm of others about us. But self-awareness enables us to stand apart and examine even the way we “see” ourselves – our self-paradigm, the most fundamental paradigm of effectiveness. It affects not only our attitudes and behavior, but also how we see other people. There are three social maps or three theories of determinism widely accepted, independently or
This paper takes the topics and theories discussed in the book; The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and applies it to nursing practice. We will take a look at the book’s background and how the work is implemented in nursing. Throughout this paper, I will introduce a few of the relevant habits, what they represent and how they can be applied to different nursing roles. Furthermore, I will conduct a personal reflection on how the topics presented influenced my personal growth and how I use them in my personal practice.
One of the 7 habits of highly effective people is to begin with the end in mind. When I learned this habit a few years ago I implemented this thought process not only in my personal life but more importantly my professional life. I know where I want to end, and that is running my own staffing company generating millions in revenue for my family versus for someone else. In order to accomplish this there are goals that I will need to achieve over the next 2-3 years to ensure I start the company and I am successful. The short term goals I need to achieve are financial rewards, becoming relevant to the board members in the event of an sell, and grow the Nursing division by 25% in the first year. The long term goals are strategic in that I will build an extremely strong leadership team that could potentially assist me in running my organization, and to hold a President role to increase my credibility with potential investors. I am confident that if I achieve both my long term and short term goals I will be set up for success to launch my own staffing company.
The Achievement Habit book written by Bernard Roth states in the first chapter that nothing has meaning. Where in all reality we have a lot that has meaning to us we just have to find the things that have true meaning to us. Roth mentions in his book ,“Nothing is what you think it is, you give everything it 's meaning.” (Roth 18)
“Everything is negotiable. Whether or not the negotiation is easy is another thing.- Carrie Fisher “
