The hallways full of lockers, teachers, and students is the start to any academic future, despite the differences high school and middle school bring. High school and middle school have many differences, some not as large as others. From decorated middle school lockers, to the red and black cardinal spirited lockers at the high school, is just one tiny difference between the two (BE10). Major differences include the homework given, how intense high school sports are, and more classes available in high school than middle school. Among the many differences, high school is brought to another level of expectations, requirements, and responsibility. To anyone thinking high school is just something to float on by, will have a rude awakening soon to arise.
I am living the last year in Crone Middle School. There are numerous viewpoints that I can say about eighth grade. First and foremost, I want to highlight the amount of work. All the eight graders can agree that homework has substantially increased. When I was in elementary school, I was shocked when I heard that there is homework on the weekends. Now, it is shocking if I do not have weekend homework. By far, eighth grade has been the most busiest, exciting, and fun-filled year. Right from the beginning, the graduating class went to Lincoln Marsh. This is a natural area for team-building activities. I can specifically remember the number of bees in the area. I was not able to sit when eating lunch because of the bees. My favorite part of the field trip was obviously the bus ride to and from Lincoln Marsh. It was a relaxing ride where I got to listen to music. Another event was Civil War day. The entire eighth grade witnessed the life during the Civil War. There were singers, a surgeon, and nurses. The surgery was one of the most favored activities to witness. A surgeon performed a mock surgery with supplies that were available during the Civil War. A couple of weeks ago, the graduating class had the opportunity to go to Funway. There were go-karts, bumper cars, roller-skating, bowling, an arcade, and much more. It was truly an interesting
School is utterly different in the Eighth Grade Center. I have to work extremely hard in order to efficiently complete all of my work; especially in English and science. I now have to devote more of my time to studying and doing homework. Furthermore, tests are now much more difficult, they are not just memorization tests anymore. On science tests, I have to completely understand the material and be able to apply it in real-life situations. Additionally,
Middle school was a lot of fun for me, I met a lot of new people and lots of new girls. It was also kinda tough in the beginning with switching classes and things and having so many different teachers and lots of homework from different classes and having to remember the room numbers of each class but eventually I got used to everything.
Eighth grade is really nothing compared to ninth grade. It is not comparing to ninth grade because eighth grade is the year where you feel all grown p because you are in the higher grade, but in highschool no one cares about how big or what age you are if you are a freshman they will most likely call you childish or something else. Some steps to adjust to ninth grade are to keep your head in the game and not slack off. If you slack off you will get used to it, work will build up, you will give up, and from there you messing up your first semester. It is very hard to bring up your grades because if you d your work right after you were failing semester one then your points will only go up by a bit. I think that they only go up by a bit because
8th grade has been a hell of a ride, I went through ups and downs, met new people, learned new things, and finally finished middle school. But along this hellish ride I encountered many challenges (and sorta solved them). I learned life lessons and had people help me along the way, I achieved goals that I set for myself. Most importantly, I learned many methods from AVID that I hope I will always use and take advantage of. Without AVID I would probably not care about my grades so much as much as I do now.
Eighth grade and ninth grade are nothing alike. They are not alike because in eighth grade the eighth graders are the oldest students there. It is also different because since they are the oldest they get the most respect. In ninth grade the ninth graders are the youngest and get the least respect. In ninth grade or freshman year the students are new to the school and you don't really know anyone but your friends. To get through your first year as a freshman you must make a lot of friends and have good relationships with all your friends. Something that can help make you many friends is joining clubs or teams.Another way to get through freshman year is by helping other students on homework and classwork. If you are done with classwork
I remember vividly arriving on the first day of seventh grade not really focused on the school year, but focused on my first day as a Collegiate football player that afternoon. However my new English teacher Mr.Bradshaw, noticed that on the first day and changed my priorities very quickly. The first semester of seventh grade was tough for me, learning how to balance school and sports is a vital part of my growth as a student athlete, which I am still trying to figure out today. Seventh grade was definitely a year where I learned a lot, I learned to not eat my snack in assembly from Mr. Rider, I learned that Bubba’s barber shop gives crummy haircuts, I learned the importance of leadership, and preparation, I have learned to dream, and not make dreams my master, I have learned to think but not to make thoughts my aim. I came out of seventh grade confident in myself and in my abilities, and ready to embark on the last part of my middle school journey, eighth grade. I went into eighth grade knowing my role as a leader of the middle school and ready to embrace it. Now at the end of my eighth grade year, having learned a lot in middle
At the beginning of my ninth grade, I started to feel and sense I was in a different environment from Jr. High. I became more serious about my school work. I started performing at such a higher level than ever before. I became an A-B Student and score advance on my SATP Algebra I test and proficient on my SATP Biology I test.
When comparing my life and personality as a freshman to my current life, there are many differences. As a freshman, I was unmotivated and immature. Going into highschool, I wasn’t prepared or used to doing a lot of homework. In elementary and middle school I had been one of the smartest kids in my class, and school was easy. Then when I started 9th grade, I realized I actually had to put effort in my work, so I didn’t. Freshman year I was mean and rude to those around me, including my friends and teachers. I remember myself as loud and obnoxious, and I didn’t really care about other people’s feelings or how my actions would affect others. When I reflect on what I was like, I see myself as the few kids in my PGC group who don’t pay attention
I just want to say 8th grade is an experience you will never have again. It’s a point in life where you are a kid and adult at the same time. It’s a place to grow up and become who you want in life. Your 8th grade year is going to be lots of hard work, you have to fight to make it. Mostly no one slips by 8th grade without attempting to do their best.
Many people endure three years of middle school and four years of high school. It is an eventful time for children between 11 to 18 years old. During the adolescent years there are hormonal changes, environmental changes and emotional developmental gains. Middle school is the beginning of transitioning towards independence under the constant eye of adults. During high school they are challenged with real-world challenges that help them transition into adulthood. The behaviors of these individuals change as the factors change around them. For every person, the experience of high school or middle school may be different. Either way, both have the same goal of wanting the student to succeed and evolve. Even so, the similarities and differences vary. Middle school and high school are alike in the areas of receiving an education, socializing with others, and having teachers while different in areas of maturity, difficulty in work, and independence.
Eight grade is a lot different from ninth grade. First of all, ninth is a year more than eight, but I am sure you already knew that. In eight grade they tell you that in high school your teachers do not care about you or if you did your work or not, that is on you. This is partially true, but just know your teachers do care about you. If you miss a day they will not go off looking for you to make sure you got the assignment or lesson you might have missed. That is up to you to ask the teacher if you missed any important lessons or homework that day or days you were gone. All of your teachers wants to see you succeed and they will gladly help you if you just ask. Make sure you ask at a right time like before school, during lunch, or after school.
The things that i’ve learned in 8th grade has changed my life, because in algebra i’ve learned approximately 10 new ways of solving equations. In science I learned how it feels to get good grades. Finally in English Language Arts (ELA) i’ve learned about how to write better, and all the different techniques.
