As previously discussed, people are condition to dial 9-1-1 during times of crisis. In the United States, “the first catalyst for a nationwide emergency telephone number was in 1957, when the National Association of Fire Chiefs recommended use of a single number for reporting fires.” In 19687, after the recommendation of the President’s commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice, “the [Federal Communications Commission] FCC met with the American Telephone and Telegraph Company (AT&T) to find a means of establishing a universal emergency number that could be implemented quickly. In 1968, AT&T announced that it would establish the digits 9-1-1 (nine-one-one) as the emergency code throughout the United States.” The number was
The Little Rock Nine faced many struggles, and dealing with the Governor of Arkansas was one of them. As Elizabeth Eckford recalled in her interview with Facing History and Ourselves, she “walked further down the line of guards to where there was another sidewalk,” but when she “stepped up, they crossed rifles” (Eckford). She was informed the night before that there would be guards at the door, but she thought it was to protect them. This didn’t seem to be the case for her, though, because after trying three times to enter the school, she was led by a soldier into the crowd of angry people, shouting for her to leave. She said that they, “to [her] ears sounded like a mob” (Eckford). This was society’s first reaction to the Little Rock Nine,
The team has always had a great defense during the Jeff Fisher Era, but for the first time the team finally has a legitimate playmaker on offense, and that guy is Todd Gurley. Gurley leads the NFL in rushing yards per carry with 6.7. Despite only playing in five games, Gurley is fifth in the entire league in rushing yards. The Rams are a serious threat to qualify for a wild car spot and are clearly the second best team in the NFC West.
California was a land with many possibilities at least that’s what the forty niners thought. In 1848 the gold deposits of California were discovered and the news spread across the world. But on December 5 1848 the president of the United States gave a speech about the gold to encourage western expansion. About 53,000 americans traveled to California during the gold rush. The forty niners had to face many challenges on their way to California such as their journey over sea, their journey over land, and how they were going to make money.
During emergency situation, people have been trained to call 9-1-1 if they need help. From suspicious activities to mass casualty events, the 9-1-1 centers coordinate law enforcement response and first aid. Programs such as “9-1-1 for kids” dedicate all their efforts and resources to teach children what to do in emergency situations. People carry that information has they move forward in life. When one dials 9-1-1, one expects an immediate response and help in times of crisis. Today, Centers around the United States receive an estimate 240 million calls each year. This paper will provide a reader with a history over view of the 9-1-1 centers. The purpose of this paper is to assess the vulnerabilities by studying two possible scenarios; exposure
In 1957 the National Association of Fire Chiefs made the recommendation to use a single number to report fires within a community. Approximately 10 years later in 1967 the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice made the same recommendation that a single number should be used to report all emergency situations and it should be used across the entire nation. This recommendations were made because prior to the 911 system citizens in communities across the country were forced to dial a specific seven digit number in order to reach the providers of fire and law enforcement services within their communities to report an emergency. Then following, these recommendations
The period 1990-2003 presented a notable period which affected the Canadian dollar’s ground to the United States. This was brought about by the prolonged economic surge in America which was associated with conditions that spurred growth. The US government had also invested in equipment and machinery which was integral in enhancing productivity. This brought about by a domino effect in the economy improving profits, wages and equity prices without triggering inflationary pressures. There was also low inflation forcing the American government to have a loose monetary policy that spurred economic expansion. After 2003, the Canadian currency was stronger than the US dollar due to its overall economic health. The country was not affected heavily

I remembered one of my aunts who visited our home for a week-vacation with her husband. Her husband was not accustomed to dogs that much, and our dog kept on barking and barking the entire night which made him unable to sleep. My aunt told us the following day that my uncle was so pissed off by the dog’s barking that he blurted out, “Can someone kill the dog?”
The first paper is due by Monday, April 9, 11:59 p.m. You MAY use sources outside of the Liberty Search Engine (and are encouraged to do so). Also you may use scholarly books and not just journal articles. You should avoid using generic websites that do not appear scholarly in nature. A good rule of thumb is that if a website does not have an author, it is not a good source. Good online material has also usually been published in print at some point. Google Scholar and JSTOR are great places to search, as well as the online encyclopedias I've shown you. Always feel free to send me an email if you have questions about sources or formatting.

Propaganda has been around for many years and it has influenced us many times. Propaganda is defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary as “ideas, statements, or beliefs that are usually false or exaggerated and that are spread around in order to help a cause, a political leader, or a government.” You might remember hearing about propaganda back in history class were the word started showing up during World War 1 but that is not were propaganda started. Propaganda has been around for hundreds of years going back as far as the Greeks, it wasn’t until World War 1 that propaganda became popular and easier to spread around.
In the United States, starting salaries for teachers who have completed a four-year degree are far lower compared to many other professions, which also require a four-year degree. In most states, teachers must undergo testing and other rigorous certification requirements, but they are given the same consideration or status as beginning professionals in other areas. Although attractive incentives are offered, the compensation does not compare to the long hours of work and schooling required for a teaching career.
Marijuana is much safer than a lot of other drugs. It can be smoked, vaporized, eaten in edibles, the oil can be extracted from the plant and taken in a capsule or rubbed on a pained area as a lotion, and many other ways. Any one of these ways are safer than snorting or injecting a drug. Other drugs have a higher addiction potential and are very harmful to the body in numerous ways. Other drugs also have a high overdose rate, whereas marijuana doesn’t. Marijuana has no reported overdoses, and in fact, one would have to consume a vast amount marijuana in such a time that is impossible to do so.
