When I think about 9/11 I feel two main emotions: anger and sadness. The way I am angry in this situation is most likely different from everyone else’s type of anger. Most people I have heard talk about the tragedy of 9/11 are/were angry at Osama Bin Laden or just any Arab-Muslim person, but I’m angry because of the focus on American deaths. Yes, I know almost 3,000 Americans died, including representatives from 115 countries, but what happened to the millions of innocent lives taken by our military because of this anger sweeping the country. Sure, everyone’s anger and fright caused by this event brought the United States together as one, but at what cost? I do agree, though, that the 9/11 attacks were works of terrorism, but if we really
The author, argues how in the face of having anxiety on 9-11 fear, people should re-evaluate and re-consider with their thoughts based on actual experience. In fact, the entirety of what we see, hear or read isn't actuality becaise by travelling, we tend to realize what these invidials are living through and how worng society makes it
According to David Plotz, “20 percent of Americans know or have a friend /relative who knows someone injured or killed from the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001”. Even if one doesn’t fall into the 20%, the 9/11 terrorist attacks still affects them and their country. When the planes first struck the twin towers, the employees inside had a very limited amount of time to evacuate the building. Unfortunately, nearly 3,000 people never made it out alive. This is entirely due to the lack of education/preparedness for emergency situations prior to this day. The greatest loss of life on 9/11 was caused by the incorrect survival strategies of the people within the twin towers including distractedness, unpreparedness of emergencies and elevator
The entry that affected me most was September 11th, Megan’s Birthday by Daniela Gioseffi. I really liked this entry because it was one of the first in my section that went into extensive detail and nearly had a plot. I liked how the author was able to create a very dark, emotionally filled tone in the begging, yet end it on a higher note. She did this by beginning the story with her personal, first-hand experience of 9/11, while also stating her families current condition. This gave the readers a glimpse into her life before and during the traumatic event.
Are you a proud American? Do you know the bad events that happened in our country in the last 30-40 years? But the worst event of all, was the terrorist attack from al-Qaeda on the World Trade Centers in New York, and the Pentagon in D.C. on September 11, 2001, otherwise known as 9/11. People were always blaming the terrorist and people in the Middle East for this tragic event, but evidence has shown that it wasn’t just the terrorist. The 9/11 attack was a wrongful doing, yes, and it was all the governments fault.
9.11.01 was a horrifying day for the people of America, as well as many others from across the globe. It has been 14 years since that day and people will still be remembering this day forever. People will never forget 9.11, where two planes that were hijacked by Islamic people sent by Osama Bin Laden and flown into the twin towers, and another plane that had hit the pentagon. I think of this day as the saddest day that America had ever had.
At first we were shocked from such a scare, then we were sad, and lastly we felt anger on September 11th, 2001. The event on that took place on September 11th, 2001 were planes getting hijacked by passengers on the plane and they crashed them into the Twin Towers in New York City. All of the circuits were busy; all you could hear through the cell phones were operators saying please try again at a later time. The American Airlines flight 11 moments earlier crashed into the North Tower. Then at 9:05am, twenty minutes after the first crash, United Airlines flight 175 crashed into the South Tower. The news stations repeatedly exhibited the buildings that plunged to the ground. In regards to figure out how anyone could ever do this terrible crime I will explain the
On September 11, 2001, the terror attacks that struck upon the American people etched a wound so deep that will take years to repair. The whole world watched and mourned as 2,977 innocent lives were taken mercilessly away by the clutches of vile people. The group responsible for these attacks had malicious intent and animosity toward the people of the free world. They took their accumulated hatred and attacked the American people. The way the American people responded was not what the terrorist group had expected.Instead of cowering in fear from the attacks as presumed, the American people began to display more patriotism and exhibit a sense of unity. While 9/11 is a day we remember the innocent lives lost to terrorism and the new sense of togetherness it founded, it is also a day that birth the term Islamophobia and gave rise to mistaken-identity hate crimes.
September 11, 2001 was not just any ordinary day for the citizens of the United States and the city of New York, but a devastating attack that has put us all in shock and fear. As all of you know, the Tuesday that this country was ambushed and attacked destructively by terrorists, was one of the saddest days America has ever seen. Not only did it affect the people that were in the World Trade Center Towers and the loved ones who unfortunately passed away, but it affected our country as a whole. Scared, devastated, astonished, and surprised are just a few words that begin to describe September 11th. As separate states and people, I can confidently say that America has never been closer together as one than on that
September 11, 2001 (herein referred to as 9/11) was a day in American history, which will be remembered as the most horrific attack on American soil. This attack, carried out by nineteen Islamic extremists, was associated with al-Qaeda, and involved the hijacking of four airplanes. Two of those airplanes were hijacked and flown directly into the World Trade Center in New York City, New York. The third plane’s target was the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and the fourth plane was brought down in Pennsylvania where it is believed the passengers aboard fought the hijackers. This horrific day in history cost over 3,000 people their lives, and was labeled the worst attack on American soil since the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II.
Throughout the years there are events that stay with you, and the date September 11, 2001 is one of them. The plane hijackings, attack on the Twin Towers, and plane crashes that took place on 9/11 were tragic. Though being born that year and not being able to witness the event, I feel as though it changed me in some way. This action of terrorism effected the U.S. in many ways, that would help prevent terrorism in the long run. Which would give the new generation ideas to help prevent terrorism. Despite the years that have gone by, 9/11 will always be a travesty that will be remembered.
George W. Bush once said that “Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They see liberty and think they saw weakness.” 9/11 was a devastating day in American history. Men, from the terrorist group Al Quada, attacked America on their own soil for the first time since Japan attack us at Pearl Harbor. But there are some things we can isolate from it. The basic overview of it. What were the terrorists doing to get ready for the day, and what was their major purpose and intention.
However, people can choose to live in fear of that day and the prospects of something like that happening again, or they can take a step back and look at the good that came out of the event. Many people, when remembering the attacks of 9/11, look back on how they felt as the news poured through their radios and hitting their ears. But many disregard what happened later on that day and into the week to come. There were people standing around neighborhoods, in stores, and in parks consoling complete strangers. There were random people in grocery stores coming up and asking if you were okay or how you were feeling. People were definitely affected by the events but many chose to look at it as a way to help others and bring our nation closer together (almost as close as it has ever been). That day in September 11th, 2001 the United States of America chose to come together and live in love and not in
When the citizens of the United States went to bed on September 10th, 2001 they had no idea that the events the next day would change their lives in one way or another for the rest of their lives. September 11th began just like any other day but by the end of the day, almost 3,000 people died in four separate deliberate terrorist attacks against the United States. The events on September 11th had shocked the world, caused billions of dollars in damages and made Americans question their sense of security. The attacks on September 11th, conducted by the Islamic extremist group, al-Qaeda, was an important event in United States history because it was the deadliest and biggest terrorist attack on American soil and caused extensive death and destruction
The September 11, 2001 attack has created an array of confusion, anger, anxiety, fear, and hatred among many Americans. Police officers and firefighters, who responded to the events of 9/11, experienced delayed emotional reactions so they can accomplish their tasks and many loss their lives in saving others. Video images of two hijacked U.S. commercial airliners plowing into the twin towers were continuously replayed for days on local and national news outlets. The United States was
Do you ever have one of those moments in your life in which you will never forget where you were? I remember waking up early on September 11, 2001, getting ready for school and my dad telling me hurry up to watch the news with him. Being in 8th grade at the time, the news really wasn’t something I would watch in the mornings so I knew it had to be something important. Then I saw it. An airplane crashing into a tower, people panicking, and mayhem ensuing in a city very well known to me. When any tragic event like 9/11 occurs, the effect it will have on a nation is tremendous. It left America in shock, anger, and sadness just to name a few adjectives to describe the insurmountable amount of feelings that we felt on that day.
