The word cancer strikes fear into the hearts of many people and their loved ones. Millions of people are diagnosed every year and they put their full trust into their doctors to make the best decisions and offer the most effective treatment. However people tend to be more frightened of the treatment itself because traditional cancer therapies produce scary symptoms such as vomiting, pain, and hair loss. The treatments leave patients feeling extremely weak and fatigued. Most patients believe that these drug treatments are the best and only option to cure them. There is a better safer alternative treatment that the FDA might be hiding from the public. This alternative treatment is called amygdalin although it is also known under the term the …show more content…
In this way the cancer is killed. The cyanide is only released when it comes into contact with a cancer cell making it safe to the human body. On the opposing side people claim that the cyanide in amygdalin is dangerous and unsuccessful in treating and curing cancer. However the amount in the seeds is so small that it would not produce any harm and the fact that it is enclosed makes it safe. The medical drug treatments are far more dangerous and have the ability to kill a person in certain doses. According to the PLOS ONE medical journal article “Amygdalin Blocks Bladder Cancer cell Growth In Vitro by Diminishing Cyclin A and cdk2” even though people opposed to amygdalin claim that the cyanide content in the seed is not effective, unsafe, and toxic none of these claims have been not been observed in any of the treated patients. (page 1 paragraph 4.) According to their study amygdalin caused a complete cure in 40.5% of people and relieved symptoms in 22.9% of people, from the 368 people treated. This means that a large number of people were cured something a medical treatment cannot do. Medical drugs only put people into a cancer free state called remission. This remission period can last 5 years or 10 years before the disease returns. Thus it is a “band aid” fix to the problem. And to make matters worse chemotherapy drugs and radiation only provide relief in late stages of cancer and do not provide prolonged life in most cases. Amygdalin found in natural seeds is
The CDC estimates that each year, more than eight million people are diagnosed, and consequently died from cancer, and this statistic was even higher in the 1950s. During this period, little was known of cancer’s effects on the
The reading entitled “The Treatment Plan” focuses on developing treatment plans, particularly for those in substance abuse rehabilitation programs. First, the interdisciplinary team, which consists of a variety of professionals such as doctors, nurses, and therapists, writes a summary of the client at intake to determine the problems, how they came about, and the potential solutions. Next, a problem list is created. The problem statement is one sentence explaining the problem, which is abstract and not tangible. Therefore, signs and symptoms are also listed underneath, such as history of DUI and the blood alcohol level. These are used as evidence to back-up the problem statement. After, for each problem statement, several goals are listed that
may help kill certain cancer cells and reduce the size of others. Evidence from one cell culture study
Many doctors, physicians, researchers and biotech companies--including the revolutionary Seattle Genetics research facility--are now turning to antibody-assisted cancer treatments and precisely targeted cures instead of treating cancer with a cocktail of chemicals and radiation that generate risky side effects and damage the healthy tissue that patients need to recover. Cancers are among the most frightening and difficult-to-treat illnesses. Ranked as the leading cause of death and disability, cancer is actually an umbrella term that covers many different diseases. Each person faces a unique disease because cancers interact with the body's existing cells, so each case has a
Finding a panacea for cancer will be an arduous task with a very lengthy and discouraging trial and error period. Inevitably there will be some trying hurdles to get past in search of this cancer panacea, but, one that seems to be the most difficult to get passed is the severity and variety of the case presented. Doctors see this as overwhelming and very daunting since they do not want to get a patient’s hopes up if the medicine turns out not to work, or cause things to get worse. If doctors believe they have found this new and astonishing drug that cures all cancer at all stages and they prescribe it but turns out to only make the cancer worse, they will have to live knowing that they hurt all of these people and their families forever. In
Abstract Cancer “Sucks” and many individuals today are dealing with it or know someone who has dealt with it. The late president Richard Nixon declared war on cancer in 1971 and we have been fighting the battle ever since (McCarthy, 2015, paras. 16). Since the declaration many possible cures were developed and chemotherapy is the one which seems to work on almost every cancer. However, this treatment has drawbacks that are either controversial or questionable as to what degree they help with defeating cancer.
It would attach itself to a cancer cell and aggressively aggravate the body to draw in the bodies’ defenses to all out assault that area. In theory, if you kept the patients immune system going, you could bombard the cancer and not have to worry about chemical side effects. Lots of treatments like chemotherapy weaken the immune system, so this would be an interesting alternative. One would first need to figure out a way to attach a “decoy” drug to the cancer cells and have it be one that the body would want to attack.
It is no secret that cancer is leading cause of death in the world. It was estimated that in 2012, 14.1 million new cases of cancer occurred worldwide and 8.2 million people died as a result of cancer [1]. Cancer prevalence is increasing at an alarming rate, yet the progress of treatment has been slow, with benefits of treatment being measured in only months or even weeks. Most patients with a specific type of cancer at a certain stage will receive the exact same form of treatment, but it has been made clear that while the treatment works well for some, it does not for a significant amount of others. The treatment that patients receive today is based on
there are many other forms of treatment that can slow the cancer, but none that leave the patient completely cancer free
Depending on what type of schizophrenia a person has can determine the symptoms that they have. “The symptoms can be put into three categories which are positive symptoms, negative symptoms and cognitive symptoms” (National Institute of Mental Health, 2011). Schizophrenia can have positive symptoms which consist of hallucinations, delusions and thought disorders that can be seen in healthy individuals. Negative symptoms are constant disruption of normal behavior along with emotions. Then, the cognitive symptoms which are difficult to recognize and a majority of the time tests has to be run to determine what symptoms or what type of schizophrenia that individual has.
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States. As of 1990, there has been estimated 5 million people who have been taken by the disease. Every one of four people in the U.S will die of cancer, averaging at 1,500 people per day. There are many things in our daily lives that contribute to the growth and spread of cancer. The food and chemical industries take the blame. Naming it the “man made disease.” What many people do not understand is that there are other treatment options rather than chemo and radiation therapy. One of these alternative treatments is natural medicine. Natural medicine is beneficial because people have
Drug replacement therapy is a widely-discussed topic and there are many concerns about whether it is a positive or negative alternative/solution to drug addiction. First, you must understand what drug addiction is. Drug addiction begins as a voluntary act proceeding on as the addiction progresses into a manic world of chaos. Quite often uncontrollable leading on into criminal activities and possibly death if recovery isn’t sought. Drug addiction in this instance becomes a disease not only affecting the individual consuming these substances, but also trickling down to each member of the family unit.
Why focus on treatment instead of finding a cure? It is simple; there is in profit in finding a cure for cancer. Desperate and eager to live, the typical cancer patient spends about $50,000 fighting the disease. Chemotherapy drugs are among the most expensive of all treatments, many ranging from $3,000 to $7,000 for a one-month supply. If the cancer industry allows a cure, then their patient base goes away (Dr. Mercola, D. (2011, January 1). Cancer: Forbidden Cures | Natural Cancer Treatment. Retrieved February 26, 2015, from http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/08/03/natural-cancer-treatment.aspx.) It makes more
Cancer. We all know someone who has suffered from it or has passed away because of it. Cancer now affects one in every three people, and is the second highest cause of death in the United States. For decades, the medical community has been on the hunt for a cure for cancer, and have been subjected to intense ridicule from the public because of a lack of progression toward a possible cure. In recent years, many scientists, doctors, researchers, and the general public have come to believe that the cure for cancer is being suppressed because of this lack of progress. Those who say it is suppressed claim that the drugs used to treat cancer actually cause cancer, making a patient sicker and sicker. As a result, the patients are forced to spend
I concur with your statement pertaining to the implementation of non-traditional treatment methods within a treatment plan. I also agree with the growing need for alternative therapeutic treatment, theses second opinion treatment options have been very beneficial to the client's overall lifestyle especially for those patients seeking antidepressant regiments such as acupuncture. With a diverse in cultures patients seeking mental health services alternative methods are culturally diverse, eliminates the medication regiment most tradition treatment methods implement, and serves as a dual purpose of collaborating both mental and physical aspects of treatment. Wilson, White, and Hamilton (2013, p. 149) specified that, “Many clients of general
