With life being so fast paced and everyone being so busy with balancing school and/or work with other responsibilities, people tend to overwork themselves without even realizing it. Being mindlessly oblivious about what they are putting into their bodies also does not alleviate the current situation. Some opt for fast food since it is easy and convenient considering having a hectic schedule. Many often come home late at night, eat, and shortly head to bed after an exhausting day. All this exhaustion increases the stress placed on one’s heart. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (2016) stated that myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack, is the leading causes of death nationwide. While all organs are to be considered vital organs, since they all work as a unit, the heart is especially important because it provides all other organs with their necessities to function. Without the heart, all other organs would collapse due to the lack of blood and other vital materials. It is essential to raise awareness as well as be utterly educated in the fact that myocardial infarction victimizes so many people and it can happen to anyone at any given time. Due to the lack of physical activity and poor eating habits, people nowadays are more prone to getting a heart attack. It is not merely just elderly people at risk anymore; there are cases where young people have gotten a heart attack. The heart, blood vessels, and blood all make up the cardiovascular system.
