12. Chemists help protect the environment by identifying pollutants harming the environment and prevent these pollutants to be exposed again.
Chemistry is the science that studies all properties of matter. Chemistry is an immense subject that exists everywhere in the world, from chemical compounds in the human body to detergents used in daily basis, chemistry can be in anything we can think of. Reason why, ever since I was a junior in High School I dreamt with becoming a chemical engineer in the near future. Being a chemical engineer is not just about knowing chemistry, but also implementing the engineering principles to mass produce products, and share them with consumers. Correspondingly, a chemical engineer utilizes the principles of chemistry in order to solve problems that involve the production in large-scales of chemicals, food, fuel, makeup, and many other products manufactured by chemical engineers.
The history of lab technicians can be dated back to the same time as medicine actually maybe even a little earlier. The ancient Greeks, “saw the value in examining body fluids to determine a disease”(Berger 1). Because they saw this is part of the reason that Lab Technician’s exist today. The beginning of this history can be dated back to “1658 with Jan Swammerdam’s discovery of red blood corpuscles”(Career Research). Coming along with another great accomplishment was, “Robert Koch and Louis Pasteur discovery in bacteriology in the 1870s”(Career Research). These discoveries have helped us overcome boundaries in the twentieth centuries and discover so much more than we already know. “In 1928 Alexander Fleming discovered Penicillin in his lab
A Veterinary Technician works as a skilled technical assistant to a veterinarian, or to another biomedical researcher or scientist. Veterinary technicians do not prescribe, diagnose, or perform surgery, and they always work under the supervision of a veterinarian. Thus being said, a veterinary technician career is a natural step for an aspiring veterinarian wanting to test the waters. Most veterinary technicians find employment in private veterinary practices doing traditional clinic work, but veterinary technician career opportunities are also available in other fields, such as teaching, biomedical research, and zoo wildlife medicine.
Chemistry relates to everything we touch, see, smell, hear, and taste because atoms make up everything in the universe. Chemistry influences so much in our everyday lives that it is hard to think of an activity that does not involve a chemical process in some way. The science also plays a major role in the human body. Our bodies are made up of chemicals, in fact almost 96% of our body mass is made up of four different elements: hydrogen, oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen. Besides the physical way I am affected by elements, chemistry also majorly affects me in my line of work as a certified nursing assistant. As a certified nursing assistant I work in a nursing home and
Secondly, diesel technicians are responsible for the following tasks: inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles. They also do routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and parts (Trulity).
Environmental science and protection technicians work in laboratories, offices, and the field. Fieldwork offers a variety of settings. For example, technicians may investigate an abandoned manufacturing plant, or work outdoors to test the water quality of lakes and rivers. They may work near streams and rivers, monitoring the levels of pollution caused by runoff from cities and landfills, or they may have to use the crawl spaces under a house in order to neutralize natural health risks such as radon. While working outdoors, they may be exposed to adverse weather conditions.
