Science has always interested me and i have been considering if for a career. If i was to enter a science field for a career, these are the 3 fields i would be mostly interested in. All of my life i had been fascinated with the ocean so i would highly consider going into marine biology. Marine Biology is the study of all plants and animals that live in the ocean. Marine Biologists study a wide range of organisms that varies from Whales and Dolphins to single celled plankton and sea grass. They can also study specific things like a single species of fish or all the fish that live in different ecosystems. Marine Biology also has many places you could work at. One day you could dragging giant nets behind a big boat and another time you coud be …show more content…
Marine Biologists use an array of advanced tools and technology on the job. They use big nets such as beach seines, bottom trawls, and plankton nets to collect samples of organisms that they study. They also use high tech equipment like remote controlled underwater vehicles and submarines. Other tools they use are thermometers, hydrometer, salinometers, current meters and so on. On average, Marine Biologists make about $45,000 to $110,000 a year. Although some Marine Biologists dont make tons of money, it would be a fascinating career to have. Many universities offer Marine Biology courses. For example, University of Georgia, Florida Institute of Technology, and the University of West Florida; just to name a few. To become a Marine Biologist, it is recommended to take lots of science courses in high school and in college. That includes biology, chemistry, genetics, and environmental science. It is important to get experience in the field and not just the lab. It is best to get some experience in the field early such as volunteering at a fish and wildlife conservation, working as a vet, ar even working at a fish …show more content…
I want to be an engineer and i really like science and im good at it so it would be a good field for me. Engineering science is the study of engineering and science and learning how the two interact. Engineering is using math and science to improve modern machines, technology, and structures and to invent, design, and build new things. Engineering has a very wide range of very specific fields. You could work as an aerospace engineer which is when you design and work on airplanes, a hardware engineer who design and test various computer equipment, or even a paper engineer who design and test an array of paper products. Other engineering fields include plastic engineering, river engineering, automotive engineering, and combat engineering ; just to name a couple of them. When it comes time when you pick what field you want to be in, the possibilities are almost endless because there are so many specific fields and careers. The ones that interest me most are ocean engineering which is the design of structures in the ocean, automotive engineering which is the design and testing of road vehicles, and metallurgical engineering which is the study of metals and putting them to use. Also, engineering is a very important thing in society because they solve all of societies problems that we encounter. For example, if we didnt have medical engineers, there would be no machines in hospitals to keep us alive and no cures
My career interests are a veterinarian, physicist, and bio-technician I love to take care of animals and if I see an injured one I try to help it. I like the study of physics because it deals with matter and energy and how the universe works. I love to work with technology
I’ve always had a keen interest in science. When I was younger, I viewed a dolphin show online. I was instantly fanisnated and later I was informed that the trainers were special marine biologists. The idea of becoming a marine biologist is still a dominate career choice for me. Last year, I was incredibly curious with the aspects that a marine biologist has to undertake that I researched the career path as part of my PLP. This only ignited my interest even further and when I was invited to attend the Flinders University I particularly focused on the marine biology and biology lectures.
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.
The salary for being a Marine Biologist can range from $39,700 to $124,680 yearly, depending on experience. But starting with the hourly salary it can range, for example, starting out new a Marine Biologist gets paid $19.09 an hour, then to $24.82, for the bottom 25% in the United States. Then it moves up to $59.94, and those Marine Biologist are generally
It's important to me that I study and work with something that's real, rather than subjective. When I first started to look at career paths, I found that my biggest concern was making sure that I will be able to make an impact on the world that I can feel proud of. Engineering is the field that most appeals to me in that I would be creating or refining real, tangible things, and that those things would have real, positive effects on people's lives. I know that engineering is a great opportunity to work with others and combine my strengths with other engineers, as well as people from various other
The dream of having majored in marine biology is one thing, but to get to have a marine biology degree is a fifth grader’s dream come true. The environment is heading in a rough direction. For example, ocean acidification is already a problem. The decrease in pH of our ocean acidity is causing coral reefs to die out—which houses thousands of organisms’ homes and food sources. Due to the contaminants, we release into the natural environment, we are slowly losing ecosystems every day. Therefore, I want to be the researcher to help save the oceanic life from these horrible conditions. Also, the career of marine biology can take a person anywhere, from the coasts of the Bahamas all the way to the depths of the Arctic Ocean. This provides the advantage
From that one question I was able to research and find so much information and now I’m able to answer it: in order to prepare myself to become a marine biologist I have to volunteer at local aquariums to get familiar to the environment, I need to take animal science classes, also I have to maintain a 3.5 GPA and I have to stay active in the local facilities involving aquatic
A Marine Biologist Will be a Right Careen Scientist for You ! Marine biologist are scientist that study water bodies, performing a number of duties that vary by the specific job. They may research experiment or create plans for action to improve and sustain aquatic life, healthy, and productive. Marine biologist spend many hours in oceans, lakes and rivers studying plants and animals, in addition to the time spent in the classroom learning about the sciences applicable to marine biology. Marine scientist study and analyze ocean ecology and aquatic life.
Gloria Steinem once said, “Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities.” Imagination and dreams can make anything possible, including me becoming a marine biologist. Ever since I was five years old, i have dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. My dad, stepmom, and me took a trip to Orlando, Florida and I was terrified of what was to come. I didn't know it had the time, but now I realize that this one experience has shaped me into who I am and what I love.
For this job the degree I will need is a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD. For me to attain these degrees I will need to spend approximately $50,980. Scholarships I can get with this are the NOAA, The Marine Science Scholarships, and The Linton Tibbetts Endowed Graduate Student Fellowship.
My goals in life are to get a first enlist in the Navy, hope to get a job as a diver in the special operations program. After my first enlistment is up, I want to be a diver at an aquarium where I can feed the animals; Meanwhile, I would like to attend Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at The University of Miami and earn a doctorate degree in Marine Biology to become a Marine Biologist. I've always been fascinated with animals, especially aquatic life. Although, I wasn't dead-set on becoming one at first, over spring break I made my final decision. We went to an aquarium and I just loved every bit of it; the animal’s interactions, the knowledge behind all of it, and the joy I saw between the employees and the animals. I’m very interested in not just the study of organisms in the ocean or other marine bodies of water, but also marine conservation and ecology. Thinking about the studies of protecting and preserving of the ecosystems in oceans and seas and interactions among organisms and their environment just gets my full attention. I could sit for hours and hours and listen to anybody talk about these subjects and they would have my full attention, one-hundred percent. This subject has never, and never will lose my interest.
The career path that I chose is zoologist and wildlife biologists. I chose this because I became interested in marine biology when a I was younger. I would always love to watch shark movies. I was obsessed with sharks and would always wish I could swim with them. Their intelligence is what caught my attention. A great white shark is my favorite species.
Several people ask what is a marine biologist? There are various answers to this question. The best answer shall be that a marine biologist is someone who works in some way in studying, observing, protecting, or managing marine organisms, be they microbe, plant or animal. Marine Biologists study the origins, behaviours, diseases, genetics and the life processes of animals and wildlife of the marine environment. Some marine biologists specialize in wildlife research and management, including the collection and analysis of biological data to determine the environmental effects of present and potential use of land and water areas (Marine Biology). Becoming a marine biologist can be pretty difficult. Marine biologist will need to take several biology classes; but you will also need a fantastic understanding of science in general. You will need to take classes such as chemistry and physics. Mathematics will also be required, at least up to calculus. Typing skills will also be necessary in the career, computer, and technical/electrical skills would also be helpful for this field (Becoming a Marine Biologist).
First things first, I chose electrical engineering as my career, mostly in my interest of computers and physics. As an electrical engineer I’ll design, develop, test, and maintain electrical and electronic devices; use computers and engineering software to
The science related career that I chose was a dietitian. The main parts of this job are to help and tell people about healthy eating and living. Some of the other tasks of a dietitian are, giving people advice about healthy eating, making presentations, doing reports, making sure that people can accept their illnesses, explain health nutrition to the public, helping people with dietary changes and knowing all the key health needs. Dietitians are trained health care professionals. They have to know how to help people change their eating habits to help people with sometimes life threatening illnesses. A dietitian researches new ways to improve health care and can prepare future dietitians for their jobs.
