I am going to be the first of my family to achieve a higher level of education after high school. I feel that being born and raised in Mountain Grove has given me values that I want to hold on to for the rest of my life. Rodriguez was involved in a program during her high school years that was made for aspiring teachers. With her many years of experience in a classroom setting and more than one hundred hours of interning at an elementary school, she has become a preschool teacher who dedicates herself to instilling the first basic foundations for many children who will eventually go on to college and create a life of their own. As a Middle School Teacher, there are many jobs you have to do. You have to create lesson plans to teach the students and then you have to teach the lesson plan. In our community everyone has their own ways of learning. Knowing how people interact with one and other, and understanding the diverse individual in our community helps to give everyone a fair, and equitable education in our society. Knowing how different people learn and function other than yourself helps us as humans understand others and how they have the ability to learn. Even though, the way people think about things may be different than your own thinking, and act as they find a common ground in our diverse and changing world.

Elementary teachers not only introduce their students to the basic concepts of core subjects, they also help pave the path to each student’s future success. Education to become a teacher is long and tedious, and while the income may not be the highest available, watching students develop a new skill or grow an appreciation for learning can be very rewarding. Because there will always be a need for education, even with the recent budget cuts, teaching jobs will always have to be available somewhere.
