John B. Ravenal, the curator for the Modern and Contemporary Art collection at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA),
Back in my school years I used to visit many historical museums, where I learned a lot about the culture and society of the past. As I have always been interested in history and arts, all that was a breathtaking experience for me. I believe that these museums is the best way to get closer to lives of our ancestries and it can help us to see the world in a different way. However, to be more knowledgeable about the world we live in, it’s also extremely important to be familiar with modern art. So this time I decided to experience something new and started searching for a museum which would contain works of contemporary artists. Tampa Museum of Art was a great option. This Museum was founded in 1979 and since then it has curated three exhibitions covering the Classical World to Mid-Century Modernist works,
Museums have long served a purpose as cultural staples. For every museum, big and small, careful consideration is used in selecting its contents. When securing new items for a museum, it is most important to consider public appeal, educational value, and cost-effectiveness.
It must have been 13 years or so since I have been to the art museum, back in elementary school, on a one of a kind field trip. 13 years is way too long to have been away from the art museum, as my experience this year reminded me that. It was a beautiful, sunny October day, although it felt like July, and it was an even better day to talk a walk through the vast, mesmerizing pieces of art that the museum has to offer. The North Carolina Museum of Art provides an abundance of artwork from various time periods, cultures, and one can find art anywhere from Egyptian, to classical, to modern and contemporary art. The artwork that the museum provides not only displays an abundance of artwork, but

Three weeks ago I visited the Art Institute of Chicago. It was established in 1879 and has since expanded its collection to approximately three hundred thousand works. Attracting over one and a half million visitors annually, it is one of the largest art museums in the United States. The reason I chose this site is that I read that it displayed Georges Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, and I wanted to see it in person because it is so iconic.
The Appleton Museum of Art holds many exhibits showing how art changes between time eras and places. The artworks in these exhibits have a variety of perspectives, and art styles. Each piece holds their own story within the composition, style, and craftsmanship. I picked two different artworks the painting Tricoteuse (The Knitter) by the French painter William Adolphe Bouguereau, and the painting Daphnis and Chole by the American painter Elizabeth Jane Gardner.
When I visited the Ringling Museum of Art it always surprises me to see the amount of people that go to visit from different backgrounds and of all ages. This recent visit there were mainly just people of little to no art background except there was a group of college students along with a professor from the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus there viewing the art and took a tour along with me. I talked with them and as I saw there reaction to each gallery it was fascinating. They were amazed by the sight and described it as “ elegant and beautiful” and when they viewed the artwork unclose with only a few inches from the canvas to evaluate the small details of each piece. Inbound this very interesting so I began to do this
During this research process, as the curator it was surprising to discover that many of the images featured in this exhibition

Marsh, further remarks on the satisfaction collectors will feel from the acquisition of a Vyse figure or a stoneware vase when visiting their exhibitions at Walkers Galleries. Furthermore, it was Marsh’s opinion that the monetary expense, mitigated the purchase of a figure of the highest quality, which was of course totally British.
