Dedication and a Plan are two components needed to achieve my ultimate goals and hit milestones throughout my years at Texas A&M International University. However, growing up in a large household of six people with only one source of income is extremely difficult due to other expenses they are responsible to pay and the increasing amount of pressure my parents face every day will, unfortunately, become detrimental. Furthermore, my older sister is currently attending university but with a small amount of help from my parents who scrape up however much money they can. Moreover, both of my parents will not be able to help me pay for my college tuition for they are balancing a tremendous amount of bills to relieve themselves from an overwhelming

Throughout my life I was always told that I could accomplish anything I put my mind to. So I decided to attend Houston Community College to begin my journey. I am majoring in business administration. After two years I will transfer my credits to Jackson State University where I will continue my studies and minor in fashion merchandising. The career choice I want to pursue in is marketing manager in the fashion industry and eventually start my own business. The annually starting salary for a marketing manager can range between $80,000 to $117,000 depending on the location. My standard of living would be about a two-bedroom condo in the city, receiving benefits, and the hourly wage of $39-$53. Living in Houston is a bit pricey on expenses alone is approximately $798.48 monthly for one person. The cost of living in Houston is estimated to be 7% less than the cost of living in New York City. It is estimated that the cost of living in Atlanta was only 3.32% higher than living in Houston. The cost of living in Toronto is not much higher than living in Houston it’s only a 7% difference. I believe that Houston is a great price for living and networking
There are quite a lot of characteristics of Loma Linda University that are attractive and meaningful for me. My mom is one of the housekeeping who work at Loma Linda Medical Center. Last year on July 2014, she fell from a ladder while trying to clean the wall and injured herself. The accident was almost fatal, but thanks to the faculty at her work place she was sent immediately to the ER to get treatment. One characteristic I like about Loma Linda is the fact that Loma Linda University cares about others. Despite the fact that my mom did not have insurance or medical at that moment when she was injured, Loma Linda is still willing to give her the treatments that she needed. In addition, although my mom cannot speak much English, the faculties are willing to

During my internship at the Phoenix VA I got to rotate trough a couple of rotations. I went from Mental Health Intensive Case Management program team to the Patient Alliance Care Teams. They were quite different from each other when it came to interacting with the Veterans. I utilized my critical thinking skills, insight, key concepts, and skills and techniques. I learned about different techniques for the same interventions from different social workers. I went from a long-term assigned case load to a very acute fast paced case load. One very important insight or analogy that a supervisor gave me was that to think of a digging a whole 5 feet deep and only making it a couple of inches wide and compare it to digging a whole only a couple of inches deep and making it 5 feet wide. That is a perfect example of how to look at these departments different as far as patient interaction, rapport building, engagement and assessment goes.
Vassar College was founded by Matthew Vassar in 1865 as an all woman 's school. Vassar, a wealthy man with no children was prepared to give his money to build a hospital that would immortalize his name, but Milo Jewett convinced him it would create a bigger legacy to build a college for women (Vassar admissions). Vassar agreed with Jewett and set about planning the school. He wanted to produce well rounded women that would eventually graduate from a college that would be considered the female equivalent of Harvard. The young women attending the college would receive all well-rounded, useful degree in liberal arts. This was uncommon during that time period because most ladies attended an all girls seminary school instead of a college. Even though the college provided a liberal arts education it still ran under many of the same governances as the seminary schools had. This created a strange mix between a college and seminary school which changed the way the architecture and the policy of the school were shaped.
Seeing that Prairie View A&M University is a small campus consisting of about 9,000 students you would believe that they are doing a lot of eco-friendly things, such as using energy efficient bulbs and having recycle bins placed near every trash can on campus. Becoming more sustainable can go way beyond the little things; the campus can install solar panels or installing a green roof. Solar panles use light energy from the sun to generate electricity through this effect called the photovoltaic effect. Installing solar panels can be very expensive, but in the end it’ll save the college a lot of money on their electricity bills. Solar energy is non polluting and it is emission free while generating electricty. Another advantage of using solar
