Introduction This paper is going to be about a creation of a Human Resources plan and the steps needed to create a one-person HR department. The paper will also include a clear and concise summary of the business, will develop a recruitment and selection plan, design a training and development plan, design a compensation package for the people hired, and will also discuss legal issues the company should consider, and develop a performance appraisal system. Summary of the business It is the mission of Elizabeth’s Imports to provide import and export services that include purchasing contracts, shipping, warehousing, and delivery scheduling. Elizabeth’s Import will concentrate on special imports from the United States to Canada and China (Visigoth, 2013). Elizabeth’s Imports will be a limited liability partnership registered in Delaware due to tax purposes. The owner is Elizabeth Hain, a former distributor with Home Depot. Elizabeth Hain has brought together a group of individuals who has a lot of knowledge in the foreign trade area (Visigoth, 2013). Elizabeth’s Imports has a limited number of private investors. Elizabeth’s Import has its main offices in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The facilities include conference rooms and office spaces. The company expects to expand its services in June 2016 (Visigoth, 2013).
