(2004) The Relationship among Eating Attitudes, Slimming Behaviors and Perfectionism in a Non-Clinical Population, Hong Kong University e-theses data base This paper is to critique a thesis titled The Relationship among Eating Attitudes, Slimming Behaviors and Perfectionism in a Non-Clinical Population by Shirley, C.C.S. (2004).This thesis can be found on the database of Hong Kong University. This report mentions the slimming pheromone in Hong Kong, and wants to find out whether those behaviors will develop into illness. And it is hard for the readers to locate the information. Moreover, there is a serious problem in this literature review. From the topic, this research is to find out the relationship between eating attitude, slimming behaviors and perfectionism. However, it does not mention any information or definition on the term eating attitude. Instead of eating attitude, the definition of eating disorder is addressed. It is may confuse the readers because there are no linkage of eating attitude and eating disorder provided form the researcher. However, there are some necessary information are also included, for example, eating disorder in Hong Kong. In this section, the writer provides many information of the trend of eating disorder in Hong Kong which is not important. This part is better to be included in literature review, because it is a kind of background information. The put this part in introduction can enhance the readers’ interest and the impotency of working on this research. Hypothesis In this report there is a section purpose of present research, which includes the hypotheses of the research. Also objective is also stated in this part. However, for the improper term eating attitude used, readers have assumed the relationship between eating attitude and eating disorder first. Otherwise the reader is hard to follow the report.
