It had been a fairly, nice day, and work wasn’t to bad. My boss wasn’t on my tail for not getting him a paper on time. It was supper time when I got home. The food was already set out and the kids at the table when I walked in the door. Jane, 9 years old, had a book in her hand like normal. Billy, 4 years old, sat there picking at his scab. My husband came in with the last plate. Jason had been out of a job for 9 months now, so he was the stay at home mom for a little while. I set my bag down on our wooden table right beside the door. I walked over to the table said hi down and went to finish helping my husband. When we were finished, I sat down to look all of my wonderful family in the eye and see that today was a good day.
When supper

Then I got down on my knees to check for monsters. What I didn’t expect was to see a pair of glowing eyes staring back at me. I went ghostly white. This creature barely whispered, “Mommy, there is someone in my bed.”
I panicked, I didn’t know what this thing was. It just was under there not moving at all. It was afraid I was going to do something to it. A million thoughts went through my head. I decided to call for Jason. He hurried into the room wondering what was going on. “Yes, honey?” “I want to show you this paint chip on the bed frame.”
I knew he would rush over because we came up with a password to warn each other of something important without alarming the children. He bent down next to me. I pointed at the things under the bed. He almost grasped before he caught herself. He panicked and looked at me. I couldn’t tell from the lighting of the room but I knew he was going to call the police. He dialed the phone, “Excuse me, but there is something under my sons bed. More like another one of him. Please come to my house. I am not joking, this is something we don’t know how to deal with.”
“Yes. We will be there shortly, if you could just stay calm and don’t alarm the children. We will be coming with the sirens off and looking out for your house. Can I please have your address ?”
terror. The thing was almost upon me, and I had no way to escape. Still I pushed myself up and
The day goes by very fast. I thought my mom was going to pick me up but instead my step dad, Coy, picks me up. He asks me how may day was and I say that it went good, and I'm happy that summer is finally here. As we arrive at home I find my mom and Olivia in the living room sitting on the couch. Coy brings me into the living room with them and we are all sitting down.
"I don't think so until we call the other fire fighters, police, and the abidance."
The fainted as usual, then I saw the creature walk near me. I felt a weird feeling, something I've never felt before. It was horrible, I couldn't breathe and I felt
Seeing as there was nowhere else to go, you shuffled over to the opening and frowned. It was dark and you could just barely make out a doorway to what was most likely another room. What really threw you off guard was how nicely the doorway was carved. An intricate pattern wove itself around the exit. Did that mean… someone else was here? At the thought of possibly being able to get out of here with the help of another person made you scurry over to the patterned doorway with little hesitation. The sleeves of your two-sizes-too-big sweater fell down to wrap loosely around your forearms when you reach over and grabbed the wall to peak around into the next area.
However, I abruptly paused, seeing the golden glint on the frame around the mirror. The creature I had seen, was me. I collapsed onto the ground, pain being remembered again, and my limbs giving out.
It was like a furry, agile Dracula, its breathing very loud and deep. I froze. My mind froze. My entire body refused to co-operate. In less than half a second, it pounced onto me.
“They will find you there. I’m going to get you somewhere safe whether you want to or not.”
I jump out of the bed and dart to the bathroom and lock the door behind me. He starts banging on the door, trying to break it down. I found a good hiding spot in a little cubby hole space behind my laundry. That's when he came in. He searched everywhere, but where I was and figured I jumped out the window, which I completely overlooked in a
After a short ten-minute walk home from school, when I finally arrived at my house, I flopped onto the couch. It was a Friday afternoon, and I was ready for the football game that night, and for the weekend to begin. My mom was sitting on the couch across from me and asked me how my day at school was. I described to her what had happened that day, and the stuff we did in my classes. As we get done talking about school, she inquired
I didn't stop screaming until whatever was climbing me hovered in front of my face. Again, a silvery-blue creature in the shape of a snake was poised in a striking position inches from my nose. Light began to pour through the shape like a disco ball. The snake thing drew back and I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for a strike in the face.
Today was a hard day for me. I wasn’t feeling well when I got up this morning, but I push through and I’m glad that I did. There is one baby in the infant classroom that want go to anyone except for me; which make me feel good in a kind away. Mrs. Wright keep on trying to work with her, but she’s very slow to warm up to people. It will just have to take time for her to adjust to the teachers. Maybe next week once I’m not in the classroom she will start to warm up to them. I know for me at times it was hard hearing her cry for me, but I couldn’t do anything because I was attending to the other babies in the classroom. It was a challenge for me, but I got over it and learn how to multitask. I couldn’t go to planning with the teachers today
My nose fills with the sensational smell of garlic bread as I bound down the stairs. My dad just got home from work and I greet him with a massive hug. Dinner is just about ready so my brother and I set the table. My mom, dad, brother, and I sit down and begin eating our spaghetti dinner. We sit in the sad, scared silence we usually do ever since we moved here.We all know that we wish we were still in Carlsbad with the rest of our family and that with everything going on there’s nothing we can do to change that. So, we sit in silence because we are also tired of hearing about how close we are to nuclear war. Then out of nowhere my brother slings a fat meatball at me from across the table. For the first time in a long time, I can hear the cackle of my mom and dad’s laughter that sounds like music to my ears. The table erupts with laughter and I can feel the mood of my whole entire family shift back to the happy easy going people that I know and love. For the first time since we moved here, I thought I could actually get used to living here with my one of a kind family. Then the bomb sirens go off, only this time we can see the bright balls of light headed our
“ Be careful” he says. “Stay on this side of the neighborhood. Look out for cars.”
While I was walking I began to think how come my room didn't become into ruins? As I thought I heard footsteps on a fast paste. Turning around I saw a monster. It looked like a demon with no eyes, and a mouth full with blood dripping down to the floor. I ran as fast as I could ,but the demon cached up to me. And made it's jump like a grasshopper knocking me down with a big thud.
