People’s definition of a home can be so different. Some say a home is the place one can always come back to. A place to hang out in between work and school, to eat, sleep, and hang out. It is where one is most content and comfortable with themselves. A home is not just a house. But it is simply where the heart is. This essay will work to define, a “home” as the place in which one’s domestic affections are centered. “According to Dictionary.com, the term “home” is described as a house, apartment, or other shelter. A home is the usual residence of a person, family, or household. A home is where something originates, where it flourishes.” A home is the one place a person remembers when they are all grown up and old. It is the place they will return to on holidays after leaving the nest for college. It is the same place grandkids will come to visit grandparents, where one will still call upon when they have a home of their own. A home is not just a physical house, but it can be a city, state, country, or someone’s hometown. A neighborhood where they first met their first love, their best friend. The same streets where they first learned how to ride a bike on. A home is usually where a person grew up, where they were raised up, and their place of origin.
