To me “Leadership means leading people for positive outcomes”. An effective leader may have many aspects but the relationship that exists between a leader and their followers is one of the most important aspects of leadership which can determine the success quotient in any organization.
Imagine waking up every morning to the the horizons of the red planet, or being able to zoom from New York to London in 29 minutes. These ideas seem like it would be the reality of numerous generations away. In actuality, both of the futuristic ideas could be normal in less than fifty years. This is all thanks to the brilliant mind of Elon Musk. He has, fairly recently, made himself a billionaire by creating out-of-the-box ideas that are wildly successful. When looking at Musk’s immense triumph in his multitudinous fields of work, it is important to analyse how he became so successful. Although many aspects played into making Elon Musk an outlier, there are three clear facets that contributed most greatly into making him so successful: these being his rough childhood and upbringing, his intrinsic motivation to acquire as much knowledge as he possibly can, and lastly his ability to think outside the box and solve problems differently than the average person.
Leadership is a big deal in today’s culture and in history. A good leader with great leadership has the potential to lead a sports team to a championship. It can be the deciding factor in a war between two nations because whoever has the better leader in the war with the right strategies will come up with a victory. A right leader in the government system can also lead the nation to prosperity and wealth or, can break a nation and drive the nation into a state of depression. Leadership is everywhere and the right leader will lead you to do remarkable things.
Leadership is something that people are born with. It is an inherent charm and it doesn’t hide even if you want to hide it. There is a leader amongst us and he or she is the one that leads other people to great things by inspiring and motivating people to do good deeds. Leadership has been described as “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”. This way a leader can decide what work goes in and goes out. Good leaders in history have left a mark in walks of life. But great leaders, they’re different. Great leaders have the ability to make each and every individual re-think their life decisions and choices by
Throughout my short life, I have come to realize that a leader does not necessarily, although they may, maintain a defined position of leadership. A leader is one who will rise to the challenge even when the odds in opposition. A leader will tackle any barrier that stands in the way of the goal. A leader is willing to be hated and face criticism for doing what is right. Leaders come in all different forms, but a leader is the one who is always willing to make the difficult decisions.
Leadership is an indefinable word. There is no definitive leader because every single group needs a different leader. For example, a group of children need a different leader than a group of adults and a group of rowdy people need a different leader than a laid back group of people. A leader needs to be constantly adapting to each and every situation, assessing every little reaction and changing their approaches. As well as being constantly adapting, a leader is constantly learning new ways to handle a group and gain their attention. Leaders need always be flexible with their methods, always be ready to learn new methods, and ready to be proven wrong.
Leadership is a character’s unique way of guiding their follower’s in an attempt to make their country better than the previous leader’s attempted to. The leader is striving to make accomplishments and uphold the promise’s they handed out to the follower’s in effort to be loved and respected. There are various leadership styles and each one can be analyzed by the leader’s character traits and method’s. In history, when you study previous president’s or even military leader’s you will see the repetitive nature of the leader trying to control by enforcing rules and regulations for the citizens to abide by. When the leaders fail to make their followers happy by mistaking control for respect the followers tend to fight back and the leader begins to lose control
Leadership can be defined in many different ways. Some people are saying that leadership is “the behavior of the individual…”(Hemphill & Coons, 1957, p. 7), some others may describe it as “the influential increment over and above mechanical compliance with the routine directives of the organization” (Katz & Kahn, 1978, p. 528). I have to admit that I completely agree that every one of them but I personally believe that that the leadership is “the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization...” (House et al., 1999, p. 184). As I mention in my first paper that good leaders care not only about their personal best, they always want to get the best out
A leader is a leader of nothing if he stands alone. People must pick and choose their loyalties with the utmost care. And if they are brave enough, they must stand up for what is right and against what is wrong. A leader's followers are extremely important. Without followers you are not a leader. And that's what makes a great leader, the ability to be clever enough, charming enough and brave enough to get people to see your view and help you make it a reality. A leader must also listen to their followers, to know what they think and to work together to achieve your goal.Often time a leader can be blinded when his goal is so close. He can get tunnel vision and maybe not see the consequences or the other factor. But the people can help him see, help him make choices he won’t regret. People are the heart of the living beast of a cause, the leader is just the head. They need each other to
Leadership is a term on which no one can develop a mutual consensus as it carries a different meaning for ach individual. Some people may consider a person as their leader who is capable of taking them away from hardships, some people may consider the one as their leader who is quite charismatic and can show them dreams of a bright future or some people may consider that man as a leader who can make them progress by devising wise strategies for them etc. There is, somehow, something very common in all the perspectives that are the philosophy behind the definition, which is related to choosing a best of the best person as their leader. Nobody wants to have a person as his leader who doesn’t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his
What is leadership? Leadership stems from social influence, not authority or power, Leadership requires others, and that implies they don’t need to be “direct reports”, (Kruse, 2013). Some leaders are great leaders, they care about the organizations they work for, they also care about the people they manage and their future. Other leaders are just put in positions or situations that they are simply not qualified for. There is also one dangerous type of leaders called dysfunctional leaders. Dysfunctional leaders can be gifted with charm and determination, but when something goes wrong, their self-confident behavior can rapidly spiral out of control (Kakabadse, 2013).
“Leadership is the ability to take an average team of individuals and transform them into superstars. The best leader is the one who inspires his workers to achieve greatness each and every day”.
Leadership is an approach for a leader to guide, motivate, supervise, manage, and influence others in different situation to reach a goal. According to the Pettinger (2007), the leadership can be explained in several situations. First, the leaders have the responsible to provide vision and direction to the followers. Second, the leaders shall energise and motivate the followers. Third, the leaders shall set and enforce absolute standards of behaviour, attitude, presentation and performance.
What comes to mind when the words leader or leadership are heard? Usually a president, a teacher, a C.E.O, a work supervisor or a prime minister comes to mind. Well these are people who are considered to be leaders because they work to achieve a positive change for a particular organization or community. Leadership is the process in which a particular individual influences others to achieve an objective or a common goal. This paper will explain what the term leadership means, the key factors that make up a true leader and the impact as well as the importance that leadership has in
One of the many reasons that led to the progress of societies is the existence of a wise leadership that prepares plans, gathers ideas, and information, comparisons and studies, these measures require time and effort of the decision makers to cooperate with those who have the experience, and adequate study to make practical and theoretical tests. My point of view about the general concept of leadership and its definition: I 've read for many of the intellectuals and the military instructors and I’ve concluded that the broader definition of leadership is: "the ability to influence the behaviour of a group by a person in whom several conditions are met, including knowledge, experience, personality traits, and the ability to work on fulfilling the required task with resolve and conviction" ( 1). In my view, this is true if there is a necessity to form a strict plan by a leader to get the best results. "Leadership is basically a social role to be played by an individual who’s characterised by the previous qualities when in interaction with the other members of the group, and this role must be done by the person who has the ability to influence others, and guide their behaviour in order to achieve the goal(s) of the group" (2).
