In my version of act four of “A Raisin in the Sun”, I decided to use many of the same themes, two plots, characters and in addition I added new a vocabulary word. In the end of act three, all the readers, such as myself, were left very confused because there were still so many unresolved problems. Readers did not know whether or not they continued to move along with having the new baby in the new neighborhood. Ruth and Walter's baby was a major plot in the story, the baby would cost a lot of extra money the family did not have. The five of them were already barely surviving to live all under one small apartment roof, the new baby would mean the family would have to move. In my continuation of act four, Ruth has the baby one year later and names him Walter Jr. Walter’s whole family will be living in the new house in Clybourne park. Mama died recently and Beneatha moved in near her college with Assaggia but still sees the family often …show more content…

The Youngers were very hesitant about moving into their new house because it was in a all white neighborhood. Mama convinces the family that this is the best choice for them because they have so much pride they do not care what the other people think. Fast forward one year later Travis is going to the school nearby the community, he moved so he does not have as many friends as he did last year. I carried over this theme of race by saying that Travis got bullied at school for being the odd one out. He felt uncomfortable and did not even want to attend school. When he returned from his school day he tells Ruth and Beneatha that the white boys in his neighborhood would steal his lunch and would follow him and beat him up. This battle of discrimination has been an ongoing battle the family has been fighting since the beginning of the novel, I decided to use it in my continuation of the story because racism still goes on today, it will never magically disappear from our
