‘‘Leadership is the behaviour that brings the future to the present, by envisioning the possible and persuading others to help you make it a reality.’’ ( Helmrich, 2015, p.n.g). Lee Kwan Yew is the Leader of Singapore, informally known by his initials LKY, was the first Prime Minister of Singapore, ruling for more than three decade from 1959 to 1990. He was the leader to bring independence to the Singapore from Malaysia in 1965; it was 9th August 1965, morning at 10 a.m., 90 words that changed the life of the people of Singapore and Malaysia, (Yap, n.d.). The voice was from the Singapore Prime Minister LKY.
‘‘Whereas it is the inalienable right of a people to be free and independent. I, Lee Kuan Yew, prime minister of Singapore, do hereby proclaim and declare on behalf of the people and the government of Singapore that as from today, the ninth day of August in the year one thousand sixty – five, Singapore shall be forever a sovereign, democratic and independent nation, founded upon the principles of liberty and justice and ever seeking the welfare and happiness of her people in more just and equal society.’’ (Josey, 2012, p.284).
