Sing in me, O muse, the tale of the woman who ventured into the unknown land of Victoria in search for her fellow comrade in the abyss of the Underworld. Tell me of the one whose wisdom and courage overcame the wrath of Hades and prevailed over the beasts of the Underworld. Many pains she suffered both by land and by sea, and many battles she won. Nevertheless, the wild recklessness of her crew members led to their own tragic demise at the hands of Poseidon. Begin the tale as she crosses the rivers of the Underworld on the ferryboat of Charon. “Mortal, why have you come to the gates of the Underworld? Tell me, then, of your adventures,” said Charon, the ferryman of Hades. “I am Lydia, daughter of King Theiodamas. I come from the distant land of Washington, where my people revere my loyalty, bravery, and mentality. I have traversed many miles in the hope of finding my dear comrade, Crisanta, who is trapped beyond the gates of the Underworld by Hades and its beasts. My home is on the rocky coast of Washington, many miles away from the island of Victoria. A tragedy struck the town when my fellow comrade and friend, Crisanta, disappeared inexplicably from her home. For days, grief consumed me and despair weighed me down like shackles bound to my ankles. Crisanta was a talented musician known for her soothing music.
