Every day in the United States hurricanes, floods, fires, accidents and other disasters happen. Once the organization is contacted, they are more than likely the first organization to respond. During hard times, the American Red Cross has a giving site where volunteers can go online and buy items to help support the victims of the disaster. For 18 dollars a volunteer can donate three blankets. For 20 dollars a volunteer can give hot meals to two people. For 2,000 dollars, a volunteer can supply a food truck that will be rushed to the victims of a disaster. 91 percent of its funds on programs support around 200 disasters in the United States daily.

Emergency assistance, which is needed whenever there is a fire, hurricane, flood, and other devastating event, is also crucial in times of need. This article starts off by talking about the wide geographic distribution and considerable time depth of rabbit skin robes and blankets throughout western North America. Many accounts of rabbit skin blankets and robes suggest that they are very warm. Rabbit skin items are one of the items of material culture that remained constant from the archaic period up into the historic period. Rabbit skin items are mentioned in early literature of primary accounts but have been carried over into the secondary literature. Howard Egan, a pioneer and explorer, observed Shoshone women making rabbit skin robes, and later wrote in his diary, ”when hung around the neck the person so clothed can stand in a hard rain or snow storm and not one drop of wet will pass through the robe. They are wind and rain proof and almost cold proof” (Egan 1917:238). Many accounts have been found about people making items out of rabbit skin such as the Anasazi, Mogollon, and Hohokam. These accounts suggest that every member of the group, regardless of sex or age, owned one to wear on cold days, to sleep in, and to be interred in after death. These kinds of accounts came from the 1800s and early 1900s.

An evening out to the opera, getting married, dancing at a formal ball, or attending a lavish dinner party all meant it was time for men to dress at their finest. The man’s formal tail suit on the left was used for all of these formal occasions. Today, men have drifted from the traditional top hat and tailcoat. A Tuxedo coat is more common to see, however at very wealthy parties and in some cases even at a traditional wedding you will see a man wearing a formal tail suit. This huge fad from the past has not completely went off the market for you can see that Brooks Brothers still keeps the style alive in their 2016 Tuxedo Shop
Donkeyskin, by Charles Perrault, and All-Kinds-of-Fur by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, are both stories about a princess who runs away from her kingdom because of the king’s desire to marry her, despite the fact that the marriage would be incestuous. In Donkeyskin, the king is overtly powerful and wealthy, and much of his wealth is obtained by his Master Donkey, who excretes gold. In both tales it is necessary for the princess to find some means of discouraging her father’s sinful proposal, of which she asks for three magnificent and impossible dresses to be made and for the skin of an animal or multiple animals. The princess’ requests in both tales, however, are futile, because
Fredrick Nietzsche, a renowned German philosopher, believed that one of the strongest governing drives that humans possess, is their desire for power. Essentially when we closely examine the idea of power in literature, we see that much of the conflict in novels is about power; the struggle to gain, maintain or redress the balance of power. The need for power is a reality of life; to use or abuse, to claim or deny, own or disown, to marginalize or empower. This theme is omnipresent throughout literature about the Holocaust. Hitler and his struggle for power and dominance are infamous. Novels and films set in World War II often examine the issues of power in terms of race, age, gender and social class. One such novel is The Boy in the
