Note that Elohim is plural in the Hebrew language used in connection of plural verb because it refers to the triune of God, not gods. Jesus, in the book of John 8:58, says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Jesus himself stated his pre-existence. In John 1:1 it says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Jesus who is the word was there in creation and it was God, everything was made through him. This verse not only tells us of about the eternity of Jesus, but also his deity.
