1. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is one of the nine types of muscular dystrophy and the most known, it’s a genetic disorder distinguish by ongoing muscle degeneration and weakness. DMD is cause by a mutation on the X chromosome that stops the production of dystrophin, which is a normal protein in muscles.

2. The typical microscopic changes in the muscle changes noted in the muscle tissue of someone with Duchenne muscular dystrophy is the muscle fibers are darker and denser than usual, there is a buildup of CT, and the muscles fibers are degenerating unlike normal muscle fibers.

3. The muscles that are most severely affected by the disease process are the muscles of the pelvic girdle. You can see early signs of the disease in the weakness of the gluteal muscles. Proximal muscles of the upper limb are not affected until later in the later progression of the disease, so individuals are still able to write, use easing utensils, and use keyboard. Then there is the weakening of the respiratory muscles gradually; finally, the weakness of the cardiac muscle fibers which in turn leads to the weakening of the heart muscles, which can lead to heart failure.
