Ever since I was a young child, writing has been my passion. I knew I wanted to major in English at age seven, and since then, I have been excited to attend college and begin my career. Next year, I will be apart of the "AHEAD" program, or "Alaska Higher Education Admission Decision" program. This program allows high school seniors to attend college a year early, so they will earn dual credits. Unfortunately, my school district does not fund this program, so I am responsible for financing the entire in-state tuition. Due to my unique status, I am not eligible for many scholarships; however, this $3,000 scholarship for education will allow me to participate in the AHEAD program.
A $3,000 scholarship is extremely beneficial to me, for it is

The personal statement is very important to applicants who intend to be admitted to an undergraduate or graduate school. The role of a personal statement is to make applicants be different from other applicants. It mainly serves the purposes of persuading the admission committee of applicants’ great passion for the study field, explaining their experience that shaped their personality, demonstrating their longtime desire and commitment for the degree, and showing their life goals. What the admission committee is looking for in a personal statement varies from school to school, major to major. Art and Design is a unique program requiring its prospective students to be different in every aspect. The Art and Design Admission Committee is looking for a student who has creative potential in all respects. Hence, for those who want to apply to the School of Art and Design, they should understand how to present their stories, experiences, practice, goals, philosophy, inspirations, and aspirations in a creative way.
There are few certainties of what one will encounter during life. A common joke names two: death and
Lee University’ mission in scholastic curriculums is, “to develop within the students’ knowledge, appreciation, understanding, ability, and skills which will prepare them for responsible Christian living in a complex world.” In implementation, the practice of ethical action, redemptive service and responsible citizenship within the church, local community, and globally, are emphasized. As an older student at Lee University, I admit that these values were heavily communicated to me, by my mother, from an early age. After high school, I did not pursue a vocation and worked in a factory in Alabama for a couple of years. It was during this time, that I realized, that God wanted more out of and for me. I returned home to Tennessee, and by
My vision as an undergraduate student of the Haskayne School of Business (HSB) is to become a well-rounded influential leader and equip myself with a set of skills and values that will enhance me as an individual in my career. Thus, my goal is to succeed academically and socially, graduating with a distinction and having built strong relationships.
Five years from now I will be a senior. I will most likely be stressing out about what college I will go to and if they will accept me. I will also likely be in Student Council, National Honor Society, Builder’s Club, and any other club that I may enjoy doing and that may be helping me with college. I will be in college classes and band. I will be preparing for college, and I will be preparing for my exams. I will also be dancing after school three days a week will be trying to get as much community service in as humanly possible for the clubs.
When I took my USC tour before my freshman year, I fell in love with the campus and became very interested in exploring all the opportunities presented by the ambassador. I fell in love with the beauty of the Horseshoe and greatly appreciated the generosity and politeness of the people I met. I want to inspire prospective students to fall in love with USC as I did. I would also like to explore this opportunity to develop as a person and make good friends in the process. It gives me great pride to tell people I attend the University of South Carolina and cheer on my team at every football game. When people ask me why I went to school so far away, I generally stick to three answers. The weather is great, the sports are amazing, and the people who comprise the University are fantastic.
It is a duty that I graduate college with an abundant education so that I can help my family, sustain myself in life, and be affluent within society. Receiving this scholarship will definitely place me in a powerful position to become a step closer towards accomplishing my first career goal of becoming a registered nurse. The process of applying to college has been very strenuous on my mother and I. Unfortunately; I wasn’t one of the students to receive full scholarships from colleges or grants. My mom and I had to apply for loans, which she later got denied for. The stress of worrying about being admitted to college and receiving some financial aid has caused some disappointments. However, I am determined to receive an education and apply
When I was three years old. My grandma took me to her house and made me learn how to write everyone’s name. Including my name that was the easiest out of the 30 names I had to learn how to write. While my grandma was teaching my how to write. I learned that I was writing in
Since an early age my passion has always been to help others. In every aspect of my educational career and in my jobs, I have always determined that helping someone is the goal. Helping people is a goal that can be achieved in any work field regardless of what one does. For the last five years, I have volunteered for a non-profit organization named “Hogar de Ninos: Semillas de Fe” (translates to “A Home for Children: Seeds of Faith”). In this organization, a group of young adults have traveled to the Dominican Republic once a year for a period of two weeks each trip. Our goal is to help the impoverished children. These children have been exposed to countless traumatic events including being physically, emotionally, and sexually abused. The organizations mission consists of helping develop these children
I knew this was the one thing I would miss most. Well, actually there were two things. First, was the look of dread in each parent 's eye. It was both heartwarming and completely silly. This special day brought on the true severing of the apron strings. The children never failed to bring a smile to my face when the tables turned. Now it were the children who wanted to stay and the parents now clings to their sons and daughters. It never fails to happen in a blink of an eye. One moment the parents were trying to convince their child how much fun they are about to have and the next the child was insuring the parent that they had everything in their cubby and it was time for them to go away. This would be my last year being a preschool teacher because of an agreement I made after my college graduation.
I have been interested in health and wellness for quite a while. I would like to live in this community because I am seeking new opportunities to better myself. I believe living in a community with people who are interested in health and wellness as well, will help me towards my goal of becoming a more active person. Living in the health and wellness LLC I hope to learn how I can fit being active and healthy into a busy and stressful schedule, ultimately resulting in a healthier more active
When I first started training to be a nurse, my most compelling reason for peruse in the career was to care for the sick. Now that I am approaching the end of my three years of training my rationale has changed, I now want to empower patients in regards to their own health, supporting families in need, care for the ‘sick’ child and make a difference amongst as many people as I can.
My family and friends would describe me as helpful, fun, and energetic. Life outside of school is pretty hectic working fulltime Tuesday through Saturday working as a department manager for Walmart. My job outside of work takes up most of my past time therefore fun does not happen to often for myself but when I do get a chance to lay back and have fun I enjoy shooting pool with my friends. I am most proud of my military accomplishments.my greatest fear is that I will not be able to get back into the military and therefore not be able to provide for my family.
