Being an Ambassador for Bevill State Community College, to me, means opportunity. It means opportunity to share my positive experiences at Bevill with others. It means opportunity to be of service to the school in which I will proudly call my home for two years. Being awarded an Ambassador scholarship at BSCC will also mean a great financial opportunity for me. My career goals of becoming a Family Physician will be very financially straining, but this scholarship will give me the opportunity to begin my college career debt free. With my past experiences, such as work and school events, I can say that I am comfortable being around and meeting new people. I am very friendly, enthusiastic, supportive, and responsible. Being an ambassador, for
It’s been a subject of news reports both local and national: the opiate drug epidemic in central and northeast Pennsylvania is skyrocketing and Geisinger Marworth is stepping in to do something about it.
National Honor Society is more than a club I am apart of, it has given me the motivation to strive to keep my grades at a certain level, keep up with community service, treat others with respect, and also conduct myself in a mature manner. The National Honor Society Scholarship would help fund my schooling at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida.
I personally thank you for your generosity in giving me your Corps of Cadets Scholarship. My family and I are grateful for your Support
HOPE scholarship and Georgia Pre-K program. How does public education benefits from the Georgia lottery? I will be doing this research to find out why public schools don’t get any type of money from the lottery. “Maximize revenues for HOPE and Pre-K” the Georgia lottery mission. “To be recognized globally as a top performer and innovative leader in the lottery industry and a trusted and valued partner for the state” the Georgia lottery vision. While doing this research I will be examining how the lottery came about in the state of Georgia. The Georgia lottery system was created to enhance the state’s education funding. The purpose of this research is to find out why some of the lottery doesn’t go to public education in the state of Georgia. First we will look at the history of the Georgia lottery, secondly the counties who has the most revenue from the lottery, thirdly scholarships and programs, and lastly funding for public schools.
I am honored to submit my candidacy for consideration as one of the two recipients of the Phi Theta kappa Gold Scholarship. I believe that my excellent academic record and active involvement in Phi Theta kappa both locally and regionally makes me a good candidate for the scholarship.
Last year I had the tremendous opportunity to receive the O’Brate Scholarship and it has indubitably influenced my college experience for the better. Let me tell you, college courses are a completely different ball game than those given at high school: with that being said, no longer was just going to class and listening to the instructor enough to get an A in the class. It required me to approach this new study regime with a more methodical and effective form of work and study. Practice and time has proven key to succeeding in the college world, but it doesn’t and shouldn’t take away the significance of being financially covered and stable throughout the year. The O’Brate Scholarship has been a pivotal component into making my college transition
I believe that I should be chosen as an ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship winner because I would then be able to further fund my education at The University of Texas at Dallas. I have the potential to do great things, but unfortunately money is a limiting factor. My family isn’t able to provide me with a large sum of money for college, so as a result of this I am turning to outside scholarships for help. The ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship would help me greatly in helping pay for tuition expenses. I would not let this scholarship money go to waste should I earn the privilege of being chosen as a winner. Throughout high school I have done my best to be studious and earn the highest grade to the best of my
This essay is going to amalgamate everything from life pursuits, my educational objectives, pressing points of my life, etcetera. I feel the AAAS Scholarship is suitable for me because of my drive to get whatever crosses my mind accomplished. From an estimate of 10 years of age, I had always taken interest in occupations that intertwine chemicals and physics in them. Ranging from Neurological Engineers, to as far as a Forensics Pathologist, I have at last discovered my true paradisiacal job.
It is an honor to apply for the Athena Scholarship. I am presently enrolled in the Biology/Biotechnology Honors program in the University of Windsor. I hope to become a medical doctor. I strongly believe that my career of choice will enable e to fulfill my desire to help others. My participation in various extracurricular activities and invaluable volunteer experience has constantly shaped the way I view people and the environment around me. My academic life is no exception; my mantra in any learning situation I find myself is to strive for academic excellence and push boundaries.
For some reason, English and history were the only subjects I enjoyed. These areas appeared to be open-ended whereas math and science required higher-order thinking. Likewise, I never excelled in those subjects. Nonetheless, not being good in math or science should not exclude me from applying for the Graduate Student Achiever Scholarship. This scholarship is not solely based on academic achievement so I do meet the criteria. In any case, I have made the honor roll before!
I have a family of five, two brothers and two parents. My dad works for Ricoh, a company that sells printers, copiers and software. He grew up in a Greek household in northern Chicago. My mom started her own interior design business a few years ago and works for herself. She grew up on a farm in eastern Indiana in the small town of Fort Wayne. My brother Nick is enrolled at University of Iowa and will graduate with a finance major in May. My other brother Drew is a sophomore at University of Illinois and plans to major in finance or accounting. Then there is Matt, the fidgety man who tinkers with electronics, enjoys woodworking and creates better alternatives for random things (toys, RC cars, furniture, etc.). I plan to pursue engineering at University of Illinois, University of Iowa or University of Iowa State because of my love for problem solving and working with others. Golf will forever be apart of my life and so will my passion for pond hockey (as long as my body lets me). I may be quiet and shy when I first meet you but I’m a totally new person around my friends and very outgoing. I’m determined to work hard and make a change in the world someday. I hope to create a lasting legacy on this Earth.
Growing up in Japan as a child born into an US Air Force family I felt like life was a field trip. The DODEA schools I attended frequently visited Japanese schools to observe how they learned. It was really different and I loved being able to learn from fellow students of the same age, but from a different culture. When my parents decided to settle down in Colorado during my high school years there was no more visiting museums, going to national parks and doing other field trips to immerse myself educationally and recreationally like I did growing up. A lot of my education in high school was stuck in classrooms reading books and listening to lectures about the world. I felt like my education was going backwards because I did a lot less moving and lot more sitting. Growing up I started in DODEA schools where going on field trips was a common occurrence rather than a seldom event. Presently I am nearing college graduation and have yet to study abroad since leaving Japan and would love a summer aboard in Australia to renew my sense of adventure and curiosity. For personal and education reasons I want this summer internship in Australia to reconcile my stagnation and eventually become a Peace Corps volunteer to once again be in a whole different culture teaching and learning. That is why this is the ideal time for me to do an internship with TEAN during this upcoming summer 2014. Although there are many programs that offer Australia as an option to go abroad, it fit my personal
The world we live in is magnificent and thrillingly beautiful, yet it 's extremely suffocating and dark. Sometimes life can be predictable, but for me each step I took in life was about as certain as a walk on a tightrope. I yearn for a life I have control of. Now is the time to start living, and not just surviving. I want to be happy, and I want to help others be happy. Getting a scholarship can change my life. I can’t go to college without it. With it, I can actually have a chance to go to college and pursue my passion and make a difference. I can graduate and get a job of my dreams, gain control of my life and give myself a livelihood. The road I have traveled hasn 't been easy, but I want to triumph over my adversaries. My life has shaped me into the person I am today, therefore I am now extremely interested in the subject matter of Psychology, and I am ready to reach my goal of going to college and becoming a Psychologist.
The reason I would be a good fit for the Ambassador Program is I am a well-organized person, good communications skills, and have a passion to help others succeed. I enjoy doing anything and everything I can to help someone out. I also am very determined to succeed, one thing that I’ve always strived to do is to keep trying. I’m the type of person who believes perseverance is the absolute key to success. Throughout my life, I have had many great opportunities to help shape myself into the person I am today, which would be of great benefit if I was a part of the Student Ambassador program.
