Can one determine how well a job is performed based off questionnaires and surveys? Performance is characterized by how well one completes a task. It is important to assess skills, environments, and behaviors whether in a classroom or a worksite. Research was used to observe workers on a construction site as well as students using web-based resources. This annotated work will examine performance based on two different environments. Kozub, R. There were online test administered within two different modules. The students’ satisfaction or favorability of the web-based instruction was assessed through a survey online. The article expressed how students have a unique way of learning new material. Students process information in different ways. Kolb based his study off two ways of learning information, prehending and transforming. Prehending referred to the way a student takes in information or their level of comprehension of information. Transforming was associated with the physical application of material learned. Kolb used four quadrants: assimilator, divergere, converger, and accommodator. Each quadrant was linked with a preferred way of learning. The methodology consisted of undergrate students from four different sections of the Taxes and Personal Finance class at the Luber School of Business at The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The study utilized a matching hypothesis, students learn better when the design is matched with the strengths of their way of learning. Preferences or a student’s comfort level can become an issue with various instructional designs. Convergers and assimilators perform better in traditional lecture based learning environments.
