This year was to be my fourth year in a row attending MLA. I spoke in 2006, interviewed for jobs in 2007, spoke and interviewed in 2008, and had hoped to speak and interview for jobs this year as well. When the job interviews did not materialize, I made the difficult decision to not attend the convention given the financial realities of being an adjunct faculty member. I regretted not having the chance to speak—especially on a panel titled “Today’s Teachers, Today’s Students: Economics”—but the panel chair volunteered to deliver my paper in absentia.

Keep at AP; I do not feel I gave clear expectation to the students on how to complete the assessment. Although the assessment was aligned with the objective, I feel as though the expectations to the students could have been clearer. Before the students started to write, I told the class what they were supposed to do, however, when I was talking other students were talking. Also, the students did not understand what they were supposed to write. I could have given the students more directions or scaffold them on completing the writing prompt.
4) Describe your thoughts/reactions about the article (500 words): • What shocked me the most about this experiment is the lack of people actually using the parks in Michigan. 4,300 people is really not a very big number, especially when considering that the town I grew up in has more than 6,000 people living there. This statistic is kind of sad considering that if this study had been down about thirty years ago I am absolutely positive that the number of people visiting parks would be at least double what it is now. I would assume that the lower number of attendees probably has some type of correlation with the increased use of technology like phones and video games. On the other hand, if this survey were to be completed in another thirty years I would expect numbers of individuals using the park to be even lower due to the fact that technology will be even more advanced and that they will probably have a virtual reality park that kids can pretend to be playing at. Researchers also categorized the types of activities that people were found doing into three categories: sedentary, walking, and vigorous.
The pages before a new chapter are usually the most exciting or nerve wracking to read. Those pages determine whether or not one should continue to the next chapter and potentially finish the book or put it down for another day. Metaphorically, this class is those last pages. As a senior in high school, this is my last dual credit and high school English class. Whether I stayed focused in the class and continue to apply my knowledge from this semester to my future college English classes or not depended on my efforts. During this semester, I received plenty of insights about proper MLA citation and grammar.
I am writing to you because I really need your help. I believe there are some inconsistencies in the grading of my final term paper. I think the issues spotting section of my paper has not been graded correctly and that contributed in significantly dropping my overall grade for this class. I had 18 and 19.5 on the ethical and legal paper respectively; I had 10 out of 10 on the discussions. My overall grade was A until the term paper factored in. I wanted an A for this class and I am really disappointed that the last paper was used as a mean to bring me down. I only received less than 50% on the issue spotting section and I am sure that does not reflect the work I put into that section. I received no credit or no partial credit for some of
Introduction ‘The origin of mixed methods lies in two major research paradigms’ (Terrell, 2012, 257), namely qualitative and quantitative paradigms. The former exhibits many features of natural science approach such as dependency on numerical forms of data, whereas the latter focuses on exploration of social in-depth interpretations in the form of narrative words (Bryman, 1988). However, there has been a debate on the compatibility within qualitative approach and quantitative approach adopted in one enquiry. Advocators for the “incompatibility thesis” (Robson, 2011:162) maintain that ‘the two paradigms cannot be combined since they do not study the same phenomena’ (Sale, Lohfeld & Brazil, 2002, p. 43). I am not in favor of the
Common Mistakes in Writing: Comma Splice In your writing, there are 3 major problems that we commonly have to address as teachers/instructors/professors/etc. I want you to take the time to read about these. While we don 't expect this to fix your issues instantly, we are hoping that you 'll aim to make less of these mistakes in the future (especially on your papers, where these errors WILL be counted off for).
Community E- Portfolio #6 Summary Paper- WIC Moria Timmons I was very excited to begin my dietetic rotation at Women, Infants, and Children Food and Nutrition Services. I was even more thrilled that my location site was close to my house, making a job opportunity an option after my internship is complete.
Reflective Research Paper Tine Randrup-Thomsen Le Moyne College Reflective Research Paper Throughout my career as a student, I have met several great teachers that have inspired me in their field of expertise. These teachers often use approaches of great educators and their philosophies of teaching in order to become great teachers. One of the educators that have a valuable approach to teaching is the educator Eleanor Duckworth, who emphasized the development of intelligence through ideas from students (Hall, Quinn, & Gollnick, 2017). Duckworth’s philosophy can be seen in the two great teachers that I explored in this paper: Dr. DiFabio and Hanne.
I was given this case file in class but I have no idea what to do with this. I was partnered up with my table mate Katie. “I bet you all are wondering why you have this case. Well you are going to determine if your defendant should be guilt
Reflective Thinking Journal #1 On September 18th, 2017 my team member and I had a meeting with one of our clients. The client who is pro se came to the clinic for help with his filing documents, which he needs for his upcoming divorce hearing on December 12th, 2017. Since our client is the respondent in the case is very important that we have the documents to which he must respond to ready and filed before 60 days of the date of the trial. Our meeting was held so we could give our client the finished documents, which we had spent a week preparing. During our meeting our Supervising Attorney, Professor Harmon had to view the documents to ensure they were drafted properly and that we had everything we needed for our client. A couple days before we were to meet with our client we had a meeting with the professor to view our documents, after the meeting we went to work on making the recommended changes and thought that we were finished, however during our meeting with the client Professor Harmon did a final view of the documents and there were still a few mistakes in our documents that we did not catch, like I main bulleted points changing from numbers to letters and how our last page of two documents were two different fonts from the rest of the documents. Although had these errors been identified before our meeting with our client the mistakes would not have been a big deal since they were easily fixable and would not require much time, the mistakes were a big deal because
