The roar of the crowds on opposite ends of the field are music to my hears. Thousands of different voices all spurting out a million separate ideas on how to set up our Aztec mascot tunnel, while the band blares out the latest pop hit insync. My heart pounds in my chest as I watch the football players take the field. I look up into the stands and see the joy on all of my friend’s faces. I smile as I recall all the hard work I’ve done in order to make this night, along with all the others, so memorable. This has been my world since that first home football game freshman year. ASB or the associated student body class I’ve taken the past three years of high school, truly has helped shaped me into the person I am today. By being actively involved …show more content…
But after I realized how involved we got to be in all of our school’s major decisions, I was hooked. I was overjoyed when I was presented with this amazing opportunity to not only better my campus for me, but for all of my peers. I believe this relates to the person I am because I love being able to solve complex social problems not only to satisfy my needs and wants, but others as well. Which is exactly what ASB is about. It’s not only something that is useful to me, but I love doing it. I love interacting with other people and helping them out. For example, last year I was elected Senior Class President. In the past, the seniors have usually waited until senior year actually starts in order to start organizing events. This year, directly after I was elected, I created and ordered all of our senior shirts with my fellow officers to have for the last day of school. And over the summer I made sure that our senior class was going to be able to have a perfect senior sunrise the first day of school complete with music and the ever popular Teddy’s Donuts. By going to class everyday, I get to help my peers everyday. ASB has been an important experience for me, because I’ve been able to grow as a person, and learn new leadership skills.
ASB would be very helpful for me because it would help me transition into my major of environment science. By being in a leader position most of my life- a firstborn of three
Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in various clubs and organizations to help me become a leader in my community. At Auburn High School I took on the role of being a Publicist officer for National Technical Honors Society the first two consecutive years that it became a part of our school. I gained a lot of leadership experience through this club. Implementing a new organization is never easy and takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the leaders of the club. By being a part of a very helpful, dedicated and motivated team, we helped affiliate all the eligible members into the club and in turn helped introduce this new club to the school. As publicist my role in helping the club grow was crucial; I helped in publicizing the clubs various projects and involvement.
After being in ASB this past year, I believe that I can be a diligent and effective Executive President. In seeing the various roles and personalities of the ASB classroom, I noticed that it resembles a smaller version of the campus. There are different groups of friends, some outspoken, some quiet, and even juxtaposing opinions on various decisions we make. I feel that I have a unique personality that is a blend of everything. I am a firm believer in including all types of students in school activities and although I am an extrovert who enjoys speaking, I am also very driven in academics and my education. Because I strive to be caring and compassionate towards everyone, I relate and respect all types of personalities in the “society” of high school and feel that this quality will help me spread school spirit and get more kids involved. It
First of all, I am a good fit for ASB because I have a lot of school spirit, a positive attitude, and leadership and teamwork skills. For every spirit day, I always go full out and try my hardest to get my friends to join me. I also try to go to every school activity or dance such as the Glow Party or the ASB Friday Dance Parties. As for leadership, I am always more than willing to lead a team and take ideas to make the group the best it could be. I work well with a team because while I like to have my voice heard, I also stop and listen to other people’s opinions and ideas. Lastly, I always have a positive attitude and keep a smile on my face. I believe that the point of ASB is to make our school a better
Asb has been a huge part of my life and is still currently is. I have held an Asb leadership position for three years and counting. Asb as opened many doors for me that I never knew were there. I have gotten myself out there more and have become more involved in the school, and in doing so I have also gotten many other students to be involved in school activities. Homecoming is my favorite activity of the year because it’s the time of the year that everyone comes out to the field to help paint the float. I feel that it is the time of the year that my leadership skills really stand out.
I am honored to be in ASB this year and enjoy making a difference in the school and being a leader, and I’m looking forward to making a bigger difference next year at the school. I have learned numerous tips on how to be a leader by writing essays and showing what we learned in different committees in ASB and in our larger world. Throughout my year in ASB I learned how to be a better leader, and because of that I used these skills to make the school a better place to be in and a more amusing and exciting place to go to school.
I have been attending Anthem Prep for five consecutive years and I am applying the role of Freshman Class Representative. To make it more interesting for our students to get involved, Anthem Prep has been making changes to its student life and topics relating to it. Though our school has made significant progress, I believe the upcoming student government will improve our student body and their lives on campus.
Throughout my high school years, I gave myself many opportunities and challenges to demonstrate my worth as a leader. Of all these positions, the one I take pride in the most would be taking the lead role of directing a non-profit ACT organization. Together with my classmate, we had founded the organization to which I took charge of after he left to attend college. During my role as president of the ACT organization, my responsibilities included tutoring, finding teachers, organizing sign ups, as well as procuring space to hold classes.
It was a brisk fall evening, and my seventh grade youth football team and I had traveled to Aberdeen to play the undefeated Chiefs. We had worked harder and longer than we ever had that week to show that we were a threat in the league and ascend from our third place ranking. We knew it was not going to be easy; the Chiefs’ team had the fastest running back in our division, and they had scored more total points per game than any other team in the Southeast Idaho Youth Football League. The field was neater and greener than we had expected in this town. It was a great day for football, and I was with all of my best friends. I knew going in that it was going to be a learning experience whether we won or lost that night because the Chiefs were
I’m proud to be a Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, SCCA, bear. When I first enrolled at SCCA as a freshman, the school was nothing but a small, dull institution that focused on academics and nothing else. There were no sports teams, clubs, or school activities. The public viewed the school as a failure and assumed that it was no place for students to grow and experience what high school is like, but SCCA is nothing like the things people say it is. It may be different from the rest of the high schools in Porterville, California, but SCCA is very unique and is genuinely determined to prepare students for the real world. I aspired to do all that I could to make SCCA a better high school, so I joined my school's leadership team, also known as ASB, during my freshman year. Since the moment I joined ASB, I fell in love with the purpose of the organization. I loved to help out the school, and I loved planning events and activities that helped create a better high school experience for all of the students.
As Senior Class Vice President, I serve the senior class by planning homecoming activities and using social media to keep our class
As a candidate for the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Honors College, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the invitation to submit an application for consideration. As a UTSA student-athlete, such an opportunity is an extraordinary moment in my life, reason being, the UTSA Honors College invitation validates that I am worthy of the title a true student-athlete. Accordingly, this opportunity dispels the negative stereotypical categorization associated with being an athlete; therefore, to represent UTSA Football Team in this educational endeavor is an honor.
While searching through the round, grey tables and plastic, purple chairs, we came up on the football player, Ethan Jerkowski. Abby and I, McKenzie, inquired him about his favorite things about the new school; without a thought, he responded, “The football coaches.” Continuing the questionnaire, we pursued further by asking him why. “I like that they actually care about us, and that they want us to get better as a team and as an individual.”
It was September 17th, 2016. There I am sitting in the student section, next to some of the most school-spirited people I have ever seen in my entire life. Everywhere I looked, Syracuse fans were dressed in orange representing their school. I watched as students, and families, like I had mentioned were all gathered in this enclosed dome to celebrate the Homecoming Football Game on that surprisingly hot day in Syracuse, New York.
The two questions I was asked while writing this speech was: “What does it mean to serve U-high as a class officer”, and “If I was to be elected how would I plan to fulfill by job?”. There are many ways I could answer this question, and I could make up some random things I could do to get your attention, but in reality I know you all going to vote for your friends, I would. But please, even if you don’t know me, hear me out. First, to answer question number one: “What does it mean to serve U-high as a class officer”, it mean a lot.
n April 12, 2017, I had the pleasure of attending my first Student Honors Convocation on the NC A&T campus. The Student Honors Convocation is an event that recognizes honors students and students that achieved a 3.25 -4.0 grade point average. Although the event was widely promoted, mostly honors students –including me –attended the event. Majority of the general population slept in and didn’t take advantage of the opportunity that was handed to them. When I stepped into Harrison Auditorium, the first thing I heard was music. The University Wind Ensemble was on stage providing music for the event. When the program started, the Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem were presented. Afterwards, guests heard reflections from Christian
