In the span of my high school experience, I’ve always been involved in Student Leadership, otherwise known as ASB. In the midst of being in this class, an ongoing mission has always been to create a better school culture, and to positively impact the student body of Savanna. For my first two years of high school, I was president of my class, and with this job at hand, I led my class through several school wide events, and organized events that bonded our class together. I felt that I was very successful with fulfilling my duties as class president for the first two years of my high school experience. As a committed member of the SGA/Leadership class, I was taught to lead by example. I achieved missions to instill values of integrity, passion, and service as I cooperated that into my school and community. The class handed me the opportunity to host school-sponsored events while giving me a hands-on, authentic opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills for the future and put the skills learned into practice through the coordination of planning and implementing events. I was nominated to chair numerous committees. Through delegating tasks, working tight-knit with others, laying a foundation for rules, integrity, and values, I earned credibility. During my high school career, I have immersed myself in numerous clubs and committees, empowering my development as an avid leader. I have been involved in my school’s poverty club for four years. Currently as club president, I direct meetings and the implementation of our events and fundraisers for local homeless youth. Additionally, I am co-president for the organization of Moscrop Human Library, a school-wide event that breaks down stereotypes through dialogue. Being involved in the planning since 2015, I was in charge of finding speakers, gaining sponsors, and more. Throughout my school years, I have always tried to be a positive role model for younger students as well as my peers. This year I decided that the best way to serve my school was to participate in our school’s Student Leadership Council. It has proven to be a fantastic decision for me. I succeeded in getting the most votes out of all of the candidates and have had a great experience taking a leadership role in my school. I feel like I have become a much better leader and role model because of Student Leadership Council. I have been really fortunate to be exposed to the Jeter’s Leaders program, since they come to our school to mentor us as SLC members. It has been an incredible experience, and I would really love to continue with it. As an eighth grader at Saint Augustine, we are required to mentor our younger students. I
I want to become a Bank of America student leader I want to be a good leader but also a true leader, which is a leader that leads by example. In able to help my community and to encourage fellow students like myself, I have to set the foundation and example for them. By participating in the Student Leaders program, I can learn to become a better person, but more importantly, a better leader. As a senior preparing for graduation, it is critical that I understand where I intend to head in life. With this program, I think that it can provide me with an even more clarity about my goals and aspirations. I have demonstrated excellence In leadership by being in Future Business Leaders of America ever since I was in my freshman year. I became secretary my freshman year, vice president my sophomore year, and will have acquired the privilege of becoming President my senior year. Being in FBLA has helped me not only grow as a member, but as a leader. Throughout my growth inside the club, I have been able to encourage others to join extracurricular activities, developing my interpersonal skills. Community service has also been a major part of my High School career. After being in ASB this past year, I believe that I can be a diligent and effective Executive President. In seeing the various roles and personalities of the ASB classroom, I noticed that it resembles a smaller version of the campus. There are different groups of friends, some outspoken, some quiet, and even juxtaposing opinions on various decisions we make. I feel that I have a unique personality that is a blend of everything. I am a firm believer in including all types of students in school activities and although I am an extrovert who enjoys speaking, I am also very driven in academics and my education. Because I strive to be caring and compassionate towards everyone, I relate and respect all types of personalities in the “society” of high school and feel that this quality will help me spread school spirit and get more kids involved. I was elected by the class body after giving a speech demonstrating my leadership capabilities by leading the class through a simple exercise of standing up and sitting down together. Later on, I was elected to be the Technology Student Association’s treasurer, a position I currently hold. But perhaps most importantly, I lead the largest project in the Technology Student Association, the Video Game Design project. The project consists of about 10 people with various talents as artists, musicians, and programmers. As the project lead, I must communicate between departments and overall ensure progress is continually being made. At the same time, I also must lead the programming department and ensure new programmers are learning and have projects to work on. Weekly organizational meetings quickly become a massive juggling act of checking up on progress, answering questions, and creating new deadlines. The actual administrative duties of leading a project are challenging, yet leading the Video Game Design project allows me to learn proper administrative skills that would be beneficial for the National Honor Society.
This has kept me out of many of the elected leadership positions in our school. However, there are many other ways that I exemplify my role as a leader. One of these ways is by being a part of athletics. I have always felt like a leader in this environment, as I have always exceeded at sports. As an underclassman, I would be the one who helped out with cleaning up, and pushed my teammates to get better. Being apart of these smaller groups allows me to feel more comfortable when leading others. I also lead the team to getting better by helping to set up practices when the coaches were not allowed to coach in the off season. This made me a better leader in everyday life as I am now a more active leader. I lead in group projects, telling people what needs to be done and when. Throughout my high school years, I gave myself many opportunities and challenges to demonstrate my worth as a leader. Of all these positions, the one I take pride in the most would be taking the lead role of directing a non-profit ACT organization. Together with my classmate, we had founded the organization to which I took charge of after he left to attend college. During my role as president of the ACT organization, my responsibilities included tutoring, finding teachers, organizing sign ups, as well as procuring space to hold classes.
I believe that I should be accepted into the National Honor Society because I embody all four principles. Although I’ve never held a leadership position, I have demonstrated my ability as a leader in both clubs and on sports teams. I have great character; I have never caused issues inside or outside of school, and I am honest. I have kept a high GPA throughout my high school career and place heavy emphasis on academics. Lastly, I have gathered several volunteer hours and have happily contributed to helping my community.

My sophomore year , I was a class representative for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, commonly known as FCCLA. It was my duty to alert members and keep them up to date regarding meetings and activities. As a representative of FCCLA, I learned how to work as a unit leader and a team member.That same school year, I ran for the district office of secretary for FCCLA. The nomination and election process, gave me the opportunity to grow and nurture my leadership abilities. It was eminently challenging; but I learned the importance of discipline and hard work. Being an older sister, friend, and active student in and out of the classroom, I’ve oftentimes been the person that others look up to for advice or ideas. One specific area that I am a leader in is the Cherokee Art Club. This year I was named group leader, which is a person that guides fellow club members by giving them directions, providing support and encouragement, and making sure that everything is going as planned. I was appointed to this position because of my dedication and effective leadership skills last year. Combining certain passions with the power granted to me, I chose to make the most out of my leadership position. I organized both the Recycling Committee and the St. Baldrick's fundraiser. In the Recycling Committee, I created a script, filmed, and edited a video emphasizing the importance of recycling. That video was then circulated throughout the school and was a success-- it prompted my peers to correctly recycle materials. Similarly, I ran the social media and advertising campaigns for the St. Baldrick's Fundraiser, raising awareness for childhood cancer. I not only want to achieve leadership positions, such as my National Honors Society position, but I want to exercise them to positively influence the community around
At our gracious university we are given opportunities to become leaders and I have taken full advantage of that. As a leader, I possess qualities such as positivity, creativity, confidence, and commitment. Through my position as an At-Large senator, I am a liaison between students and faculty. This position has allowed me to be the voice of students and has given me the opportunity to reach back out to students and enlighten them on fun events put together by members in the senate and important information regarding our university. I took a leap of faith this past
